I wish I could rate this restaurant higher. A year ago, Bearcat provided a welcome oasis of healthy yet wonderfully tasty food in the fat-rich environment of New Orleans. This year, the food did not disappoint. My mushroom scramble contained a marvelous mixture of mushrooms magnificently spiced, my friend’s Xiong Mao Noodles were arguably equally delicious. Each dish would be deserving five stars, had there not been a sour taste in our mouths resulting from a two-hour wait. Upon arrival, we were told to expect a 30-minute wait; over an hour later we were finally seated, only to wait nearly an hour for our food to be delivered to us. Whether the problem in the kitchen causing both delays is a one-day anomaly or not will hopefully be addressed by other reviewers. Regardless, the failure of management to provide any sort of redress to frustrated diners reflects a lack of professionalism, if not a lack of compassion.

Our Uber driver recommended this restaurant for brunch when we arrived in the city, we walked from the French Quarter and so pleased we did! The whole experience was amazing and the food the best we have eaten on our trip so far. Great choice of gluten free options too, I had the crab scramble - delicious! Hubby raved about his too!

Saw this place recommended on Reddit when looking for best New Orleans breakfast spots, and didn't disappoint. Fresh-squeezed orange juice was amazing, and everything else was extremely tasty as well. Attentive service. Close to WW2 museum; easy to fuel up there before a visit.

We actually had intentions of eating breakfast, but after seeing the lunch menu we changed our minds. Truly had an enticing selection of meals and we decided on the Seared Scallops. Definitely a good choice, done to perfection. Service was great, employees were friendly.

This place was amazing. Fantastic selection and everything we got tasted amazing. The drip coffee especially. I got the fungus among us burrito and my friends got the bearcat breakfast and we ate everything. Excellent breakfast spot!!! Plus the lil cats everywhere were adorable!

Extensive menu that should please everyone in your group. I had the coffee cake, which was served warm and out of this world good! I also had the Southwest Daddy burrito with fried potatoes, also very delicious. Coffee is strong and flavorful. Recommended.

Virtually everything we’ve had there, we had several meals there, was above average if not, excellent. Creative recipes and dishes while still having generous portions. The staff was pleasant, environment and atmosphere was nice and welcoming. Would definitely return and make it one of our regular stops.

This place came recommended by a friend who said the potatoes were amazing. I couldn’t imagine them being anything special but they were really good. The biscuit with crawfish Cajun gravy was next level

Between myself and co-worker we ordered 4 items as we could not decide. Everything was great. I had the Hot Rob which was: Fried Chicken/dark meat with creamed Spinach, and egg on a biscuit. ( I was told they make their biscuits from scratch). So good. Had a bit of seasoning that gave is a little bit of spice. My colleague scrambled eggs with mushroom and side of potatoes. Eggs had big chunks of mushrooms and the potatoes were crisp and nicely seasoned. In addition, we shared an order of cheesy grits and an order of one banana foster pancake. We shared each other's breakfast and were so full, we took the pancake to go. We ate it 6 hours later when we were finally almost hungry again. We in New Orleans for only 4 days, and this was the best food I had. On last item, we showed up a little after 9am on a Sunday and there was already a 30 minute wait.

Great place for our first brunch of the holiday. Plenty on the menu and I suspect that (a) we'll go back later this week and (b) be a little more adventurous when we do.

Cody took great care of us. We shared the Bad Cat with bison sausage and GF blueberry pancakes. Hubs had a cold brew that he loved and I tried the rosewater latter with oat milk. He LOVED his cold brew. I liked the rosewater latte. Even had rose petals on top. I didn't love their oat milk though. It had a VERY strong oat flavor and was not my favorite. I've noticed that sometimes happens withboat milk though. Breakfast was great. I don't know what they do to those potatoes, but they are amazing!!!

There are “good cat” options and “bad cat” options. The “good cat” is relative from a health perspective, but not from the flavor side. Another restaurant that we frequented during our stay in New Orleans, and we were happy that we did. If we have one suggestion, it’s to find a way to make the fried potatoes happen while you’re here. Even if it makes no sense with what you’re ordering… do it anyways.

This could be called, what? "Alternative Creole?" This is Louisiana food for the tattoos-and-piercings crowd, not the pearls-and-pumps crowd. Not judging, though; and the food sells the concept. My breakfast taco with black beans and eggs was scrumptious. My wife's pancakes were divine. The espresso deserves a couple of sentences all by itself. The best espresso I ever had was in Spain 20 years ago (sorry, Italy! Yours is great, but they've got you beat!). For 20 years I've wondered if I'd ever taste espresso as good as that again; well, at Bearcat I did. The espresso was unforgettable. Bearcat, you're The Bomb.

We had an awesome breakfast at Bearcat today. The fresh roasted coffee was delicious and deserving of its awards. I had the breakfast sandwich with bison sausage and it was outstanding. The menu accommodates a wide range of diets and the servers were all friendly and helpful. This is a hidden gem in the warehouse district. Oh, and reasonable prices!

Fantastic! My wife is a vegan. I am not. We both absolutely loved our meals and received great service. I had the hot daddy version of the cat daddy. My wife had the vegan breakfast potatoes and a short stack of vegan pancakes. All fantastic.
