I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again, el taco loco is the best mexican restaurant uptown. the past 4 years of living in Nola, if I want mexican I am coming here. Get ONE margarita and u will not need more drinks for a WHILE. Incredible (and free!!) options of hot sauce & lime wedges. You could stay for an hour (chill/fun ambiance), or be in/out for 15 minutes. Their balcony upstairs + margarita + friends + carnitas tacos = my heaven

An astonishing experience every time I go to El Taco Loco. They have fast and hospitable service that makes a hundred Tulane students clamoring for a margarita go by like nothing. Their $4.5 small marg deal on Tuesdays is unbeatable and even better are their nachos. A huge portion of earth shattering food. There are a variety of seating options all comfortable and convenient!

I came out about 12pm on a Monday, I ordered the nachos which were advertised as $12, they rung it up as $13. I got birria , pico and guac on my nacho, they said guac was extra. I also asked them to remove the piece of hair that was on my plate and they got an attitude. Supposedly $12 nachos plus a drink totaled $25 for stale chips and cold queso

I had the 3 tacos for 9 bucks, I ate 2 and my friend ate the other..... wow over stuff and worth the walk over here...... great service from Don Martin....... will stop by again when im near. Great tasting meat. Thanks agian
The Taco Loco is reliable no frills street food. New Location is way better. The old joint was too stuffy and warm. Felt like being in a basement. New location has a good bar and outdoor dining in a shady spot. Owners dont realky care about decorating or air conditiining so wear your shorts and bring a beautiful girl to stand in line with.

Had the chicken Tacos and they were amazing! Cajeta churro was also amazing! Definitely a great spot for some authentic Mexican/Latino vibes. The place gives at home, cozy vibes overall. This place is a MUST! Only thing I will say is that I was dissapointes that they didn't have Barbacoa, but regardless, food was over the top for me.
