We stayed an extra night just to try fried chicken night at the Fountain Lounge. It was worth it! Mind you it is only fried chicken with sides, cole slaw, red beans and rice, & biscuits. The chicken was crispy and crunchy with a bit of a kick. We even liked the sides. The coke slaw was creamy with a nice sour tang. Good red beans and rice. That's the opinion of my wife who grew up here. Delicious honey butter biscuits. In terms of value, $26 for 4 pieces plus the sides. You can get another basket of chicken for $12. To me it was a great value and yummy fried chicken. Is there better fried chicken? Sure. Willie Mae Scotch House or Dooky Chase but, you're going to pay more. Also, you gotta like getting good fried chicken then just chilling at one of the best hotels in the city, The Roosevelt.

No vegan option on the menu. We had to remove both feta and egg from the avocado toast and still be charged $17 for this (before tax and tips). There was barely any avocado on the toast (see picture) and they charged us an extra $10 for a side of avocado. The breakfast potatoes were average at best. Not cut, nor properly cooked, nor tasty. Honestly that was the worst meal we had so far in New Orleans, and it came from our apparently 5* hotel !
The service was sloppy. After a long wait, when I asked where was the extra avocado, the waitress gave me the pearl : “they have to cut the avocado and slice it”. Sometimes you just have to laugh.

This was not a great experience. Service was slow despite the restaurant being mostly empty. We ordered an appetizer and asked to start with their beat salad. Took forever to come out and then they brought everything out at once - app, salad, and entrees. Paid a lot to be very disappointed. For a Valentine's Day dinner you would think they would be better prepared.
