How delightful it is to be a tourist and yet treated like a regular! Our visit began with a warm welcome from staff and from wonderful server Grace. Beautiful Grace even took the time to explain all the menu items and even made us a handwritten list of great local music! The food was all delicious and lovely to look at. We loved the balcony and the cozy bar upstairs. Lots of interesting details in the decorations which made it feel even more welcoming. Everyone was very good at what they did. It was such a nice memory we got tee shirts (and more) at the cute shop next door. I have to mention the ice cream...twice as good as any we have ever had. Anywhere. Gratitude for Gris Gris!

We wandered into Gris Gris looking for good food. The menu caught our eye and we were not disappointed.

We sat downstairs at the kitchen bartop and the atmosphere was great. As the kitchen staff prepped for the dinner rush the vibe was fun. The chef gave us a little taster of the Flambeaux Shrimp which was delicious.

Our server, Thyme, was absolutely amazing. She had such great energy, gave us solid dinner recommendations, and was very fun to talk to. She also gave us other local restaurant recommendations for our trip and answered some of our NOLA questions. Thyme had the most energetic and contagious vibe we've met so far!

We had the chicken and andoullie gumbo as a starter. It had a dark rich roux and was very meaty and delicious.
I ordered the Chicken and dumplings which was very tasty and huuuge, I didn't finish it all. My partner ordered the blackened shrimp and grits which we both loved as well.

Overall this place rocks and I would go back again next time I'm in town. Thyme was so awesome and I hope next time she is there as well.

Brunch at Gris-Gris hit the spot! We had balcony reservations and even with it being early August the breeze was great, food delicious and service was good.

Wow wow wow! Went six years ago when it opened and it was good. This time it was great! Not only were they able to accommodate last minute a party of 8 on the balcony but my server gave me extra olives to snack on with my martini she was amazing. Oh also we had the steak wedge salad (10/10) mamas dumplings (10/10) oyster blt (6.5/10) chicken gizzards (7/10) chicken gumbo (9.5/10) flambeaux shrimp (10/10) shrimp and grits (8/10) seared fish (10/10) collard greens (10/10) all the desserts but can’t remember them and the house made lemoncchelloooo

Great gumbo. So hot inside we had to leave. No light domestic beer. Just carry one please.

This was my second time here and it did not disappoint once again. We had balcony reservations during a time where rain was possible and they were very accommodating in the event it started to rain. Our waiter was knowledgeable on the specials for the day and made some suggestions. The mimosas were amazing and so was the food. This place is in my top 5 for brunch in NOLA

The food is amazing but what really stood out was the service and atmosphere from Thyme and Madeline. The conviviality and the attention to detail match nowhere elseI have been. They both deserve the biggest raise and I'm excited for my next visit already.

I arrived to the restaurant around 8:45pm before they closed at 10pm. I had a seat at the upstairs bar where my server was prompt and ready to serve me. She also expressed her personal favs on the menu.

I ordered the Frosé, a cup of gumbo and the Shrimp & Grits. Both were really good and the drink was nice balance in temperature of the food and weather. I did have 1 AirPod in which could had made the servers feel a bit distant but I was not talked to or checked up on at all until I asked for my check. They were going through their closing duties as it was hitting 9:35pm but once I finished my Frosé I wish they would’ve noticed it and asked if I wanted another.

Really good food but the service towards closing was not attentive.
