Everyone was very nice!! Food was hot and fresh. Nice vibes
The chicken was decent. Spicy. Nothing great. The sides were on par with fast food. I’m surprised this place is rated so high. For me, Popeyes is better. I was hoping for something more “homemade”. Partially my fault for not researching better.
I will say the manager stopped by to check on us & was very nice

Food comes out slowly but so worth it - absolutely decadent and juicy and flavorful chicken, not to mention hearty sides and friendly staff.

This is the second location i’ve been to (previously visited Atlanta) and it’s pretty much the same deal. Chicken is decent not great, mac and cheese was underwhelming taste like kraft. Potato salad was cool and the fried green tomatoes were delicious. Service was efficient

Gus World Famous Fried Chicken
The title and sign on the door of the restaurant implies that Gus’s fried chicken is known all over the world and after tasting it, I can totally understand why. The chicken is the best that I’ve has so far in my almost 63 years of living, and I consider myself a chicken connoisseur. And if you love fried orka (which I most certainly do ), do yourself a favor and make sure to get the large size and don't share. The crew members are professional and helpful. I give Gus World Famous Fried Chicken 5 stars.

This chicken recipe is by far the best I have ever had. The slight spice in the skin gives it just a kick that it needs where you don’t need anything else. The chicken is so flavorful and never dry.
I ordered takeout. I had to plate the food myself. The only thing that I would recommend is that when ordering takeout, the greens be put in a container similar to that of the beans. The bag that my food was in was soaked from the greens spelling.
I do wish I would’ve ordered the macaroni and cheese.
That’s OK, it gives me something else to look forward to when I return to New Orleans.

Food is amazing! Service was pretty slow the last time I went. Didn’t get to play my order until 15 minutes in.

This Gus is nothing like the Gus in Memphis! The only positive was the chicken was hot and fresh. But the chicken didn’t have any seasoning or flavor. I got green’s & macaroni as my sides . The Mac & cheese taste like box Mac & cheese and had shredded cheese sprinkled on it that wasn’t melted. The greens tasted like pickle juice . The building was hot inside .

Went for lunch, ordered the three piece dark and three tenders with a side of Mac and Cheese. Everything was very good. Chicken was served piping hot and well seasoned, definitely worth the wait while it was cooked, it was served with bread, cole slaw and baked beans. Service was good, attentive. The dining room is quite loud, as there is nothing on the walls to absorb the sound. The place was not full, but if it was, it would be very loud.
