This is the best restaurant we have had in NOLA!!! It’s a well crafted combination of flavor, texture, and ingredients! We thoroughly enjoyed every single dish we’ve had, and will definitely come back whenever we are in town. The service was also top notch!

Very good food and service. Starting with the good the lobster bisque and calamari was really good. I have definitely never had calamari like I've had here. The star of the show was the desserts. The creme brulee was kind of basic creme brulee there wasn't much special with it but the coconut thing was really good and I've never had that anywhere. The biscuits they serve were hard as rocks and we're just not good at all. The main thing I didn't like is I got a reservation and didn't realize there was a dress code for this place so when we got there they kind of said that I was looking bad even though I was just wearing a T-shirt and pants. But you have to have I guess some kind of button up top with a collar or something to be able to sit in the restaurant. But she did let us sit in the bar area. And we did only come here to get dessert but there's another rule that they don't tell you about is that you have to order more than just dessert. Which I think is a weird rule but whatever. It just made us feel extremely uncomfortable and I definitely did not like that. but the food that we got made up for the fact and we actually would like to come back again because there's other stuff on their menu that look very good

Excellent food and service. The Redfish and Fried Shrimp plate is a must. The BBQ Shrimp app was incredible too.

The food was done exceptionally well, though the portions were very small. The 1 biscuit we each had was dry, and we should've been offered more than 1 per person. We had to flag down the waitress for empty drinks. For the price, we expected more food.

GW Fins in New Orleans serves very good food, but I have to say it didn’t quite live up to the level of hype I had read about. While the meal was enjoyable, I wouldn’t call it a dining experience I’ll remember forever.
The highlights for me were the dessert — an ice cream pie — and the complimentary biscuits with whipped butter. Both were absolutely delicious, and the staff happily brought more upon request, which I really appreciated. Those were the two things I’ll most remember from the meal.
The other dishes, including the ceviche and the fish they’re known for, were fresh and well-prepared but didn’t stand out in flavor. Everything was good, just not mind-blowing or unforgettable.
On the other hand, the atmosphere is beautiful, spacious, and romantic, and the service was excellent — attentive, friendly, and very kind.
Overall, GW Fins is a solid choice for fresh seafood in New Orleans, with standout desserts and excellent service, but I didn’t find the main dishes as memorable as I expected given the restaurant’s reputation.

If I can give this place 0 stars I would! 9 of us went there for a birthday dinner. I started with the beet salad, which came with enormous leaves and no baby arugula. I thought this looks like nothing that was in the menu description but I ate it because I was starving. I was stuck between ordering the swordfish and the yellowtail tuna. I ordered the swordfish. Our meals came and I asked the waiter if this is someone else’s dinner bc this is not swordfish. He stated that they ran out of swordfish and substituted with redfish. I said no one told me and I would like the yellowtail tuna instead as two of my friends had ordered that and stated it was really good. The tuna came after almost everyone had finished their meals (after 30 min, had to remind the waiter who forgot)and looked nothing like theirs. Theirs was seared on the outside and rare in the center. The one they placed in front of me was purple and looked nothing like theirs. It looked old, cold, and unappetizing. I returned it and did not eat anything else at this bait and switch restaurant. I guess they thought I wouldn’t notice the difference between swordfish and redfish. The manager was rude and she was argumentative. Did not offer an apology or to rectify the situation. She just copped an attitude and was speaking over me. The cherry on top of the cake was when I came back to the hotel I was so sick. I spent half the night on the toilet! Horrible experience, would never come back here! Muriel’s, Red Fish Grill much better food!

Excellent food and service. However, can be too noisy at times to make conversations difficult.
Our visit was completely wonderful. Ryan our server was helpful without being overbearing. His menu recommendations were spot on. The food was absolutely delicious from appetizers to dessert. I can't wait for another visit.

The food was excellent. The seafood offerings were delicious. Make sure gentlemen have a collared shirt.
Amazing place with an amazing staff. After being turned away at Arnaud’s because the men were wearing dress shorts, we walked across the street and they were more than happy to accommodate us. The staff turned a really sour moment into a fantastic evening. Thanks to our really sweet hostess and Aaron and Brandon our servers. We trusted Aaron with our selections and were not disappointed.

Awesome experience all around. Every server was perfect and the food was delicious. Somewhere around my 15th visit to this Resturaunt with lots of different entrees over time. Every dish i have had has been the best I've had
As usual, excellent food and service. Well worth it! Its one downside is that the noise level is pretty high, making it challenging to have a conversation. The woman who seated us moved us right away to a small room in back where the noise level was more manageable, but still high for me. My swordfish was nicely cooked, moist, and not dry, served over a bed of sweet potato hash with a bit of chipotle to make it interesting. Not a typical combination for that fish; I liked it. The snapper ceviche with plantain chips was also tasty and a nice size for an appetizer. My friend had the scalibut (halibut and scallops) and she totally enjoyed it. We shared both the ceviche and a pear salad. Last we shared dessert: salted caramel ice cream pie with pretzel crust; creamy, not too sweet, delicious. Anthony recommended a Pouilly-Fuisse, a French chardonnay, after we discussed several options. Perfect with our meals. I wish they would consider using sound-deadening materials (like panels in the ceiling) or white or pink noise generators to make it the BEST place in town.
One of the best restaurants in town! Everything on the menu is delicious and the service is top notch! Highly recommend if you have company in town. Always delicious food and great experience!
