Excellent old-school restaurant - heavy linen tablecloths, long wine list and attentive service where you can enjoy fine dining and hold a conversation at your table without having to shout. Perfect for a break from the loud, canteen style restaurants of the French Quarter.

Oh my gosh where do I begin? The ambiance was AMAZING! The food was SUPERB! The service was IMPECCABLE! I went for my birthday dinner and my waiter Earnest made sure I was taken care of. He was attentive. He was knowledgeable of the menu, gave great suggestions and took my dinning experience up a notch. He was hands down one of the best waiters I've had in a long time! My experience was a 10/10!

Not easy to find things that live up to the hype these days but GW Fins lives us to that institution status. Off the charts food and service. I'm still thinking about those lobster dumplings...

Absolutely spectacular dining experience! Energetic fun vibe, full house but our table of 7 could easily converse without yelling. Excellent professional friendly servers Ashley and I believe Ben, perfect timing! And the FOOD! We loved everything we had equally! Pork belly, lobster dumplings, fried oysters, calamari, fish & chips, tuna tartare, Scalibut, Snapper, Cod, Filet all incredible! My #1 in the FQ! Make a reservation today!

Let me just start by saying if you like seafood then this is one of the few places that will dry age fish. I ordered the bluefin tuna lightly seared to perfection. It was like eating veal from the ocean. You HAVE TO try it if you are in Nawlins. I had a glass of Gamay which most places are not knowledgeable enough to carry so you know these guys know what they are doing.

Loved the food. Tried so many dishes! I would recommend this place. Only negative was that the bus boy offered to take a picture of my husband and I (he asked, we didn’t) and then asked for a tip. That made the ending experience a little ghetto as this is an upscale restaurant.Pictures are a screen shot of a video

The service was incredible, and the food was perfectly cooked with an offering to any taste! Ask to sit in Earnest section. He has a stronger purpose in life than just a meal... but a true experience!!

GW Fins is without a doubt, one of the best seafood restaurants I've been too in a long time. This place has been recommend by nearly every restaurant guide in New Orleans and it really doesn't disappoint. The lobster bisque was delicious. The halibut was is their signature dish and really goes well with the risotto. I also got the creme brulee, which both people beside me got as well after seeing me get out. As for cocktails, you can't go wrong with the Cajun old fashioned and the French 75. It's highly recommend that you set reservations, as it was one of the busiest restaurants in New Orleans.

GW Fins is excellent. We walked in tonight without reservations and were luckily able to grab the last table in the bar.The service is top-notch.It starts with very tasty biscuits that are hot and fresh.I had the local drum on a bed of mash potatoes and a small amount of spinach.Very flavorful and just the right amount of food.I paired mine with a nice Malbec. They have a nice wine and cocktail selection and some great starters like fish and chips that could actually be a meal. It's on the pricier side, but reasonable for the quality and experience. They do have a dress code, so expect to wear pants (no shorts) and a collared shirt for men.
