Popped in as part of the Brews and Clues scavenger tour. Given some excellent reviews I was surprised the bar tender was dismissive and despite the drinks being cheap, the beer was a small plastic cup and the wine wouldn’t even use for salad dressing. But when it comes in a screw top 1.5 litre bottle then what would you expect. If you’re looking to answer the Brews and Clues question then don’t waste your time asking the bar tender
Solid 3 stars. 95% of you will absolutely hate this place and will stay for one drink tops. 5% will think this is the best bar ever. Locals here run the show, for better or worse, and some are absolute tweakers. Have had some very good times, and one truly awful (worst experience in numerous trips to nola).
Food is a 3 because I didn't eat. I came in ordered, didn't have cash... It's CASH ONLY. I left, came back within 30 minutes, the bartender remembered my order and had it on the bar by the time I could get my wallet out. This not a touristy bar, it feels like real New Orleans. Good music, friendly people, great priced drinks, and a chill local vibe.
