Overall, good experience. Wouldn't necessarily recommend unless also going to the concert venue.
We had a great first experience at the House of Blues. It was for my husband's birthday and we enjoyed each meal. They did run out of bread pudding which I wanted to have for his birthday candle. Our server was great and I would recommend to go eat there.
We'd a lovely evening in House of Blues. We booked our table and when we got there had the choice of sitting inside or outside. We chose outside where there was live music. The atmosphere was great, the food was tasty and the drinks were flowing. Staff were busy with demand but everyone was so nice. Great night out.
A surprisingly great meal at the HOB while waiting for our show to begin. We had the seafood gumbo and fried green tomatoes as appetizers and being from New Orleans I was very surprised at how good the gumbo was. It had a dark roux and was full of shrimp. Great depth and flavor from what tasted like shrimp stock. Yummy. The fried green tomatoes had a crawfish sauce with red, yellow and green peppers on it. It was good too but a bit strange paired with the peppers. I ordered the Cobb salad with grilled shrimp which came to the table with chicken and shrimp, their mistake, and I think it needed both proteins to be honest. Large chunks of bleu cheese in the dressing made it very tasty. We also got an order of the buffalo chicken tenders with a hot sauce. They were hot and fresh. Overall the meal was cheaper than expected and the service was excellent! We had a very young, attentive waitress that was on the ball. There was a jazz band playing in another room but not too loud that it was overwhelming. My sister and I still could hold a conversation easily. I think I'll return if I'm waiting for a show again.
I go to House of Blues probably a dozen times a year for concerts, and I'm ashamed to say I don't often think of the restaurant as a place to grab a bite before the show. That ends here. My party of four ate at HOB NOLA before the Psychedelic Furs/Chameleons show last night and it was SO GOOD! The table shared brisket nachos, jalapeno cornbread, key lime pie and had cocktails (I stuck w/ the unsweet iced tea as "The Sober Guy" and it was pleasant too, quick w/ refills. Service was outstanding. The check was fairly priced and we were in and out in plenty time to catch the show -- which also was great! Recommend HOB for dining! Yes! AC
We arrived and were greeted and seated right away. Our server Braxton took our drink orders then our food orders. It was prepared timely and was delivered at the right temperature. I got the hurricane mixed and my hubby got if frozen. Both were good. I ordered the pound of boiled shrimp and fried green tomatoes with sauce on the side add shrimp. It was really good. Hubby got the southern salad add shrimp with gumbo. He enjoyed his as well. The chef came out and talked with us and shared he'd spent time in our home state of Mississippi. The live entertainment was Shawna Rice on guitar and vocals along with another guitarist. We enjoyed her set too. We would definitely recommend it cause we've been multiple times here and Orlando and it's consistently good.
Dined here on a Sunday night, so it wasn't very busy. We were seated immediately and the hostess provided us water while we waited for our server. Our server seemed to be having a bad day but wasn't rude. We ordered drinks and waited, probably, 15 minutes to get them, which wasn't too bad. I ordered the beast of bourbon, which I think was meant to be an old fashioned or Sazerac. It was terrible. I mean really bad. My wife ordered the mule cocktail, which she said she liked. We ordered the Cajun shrimp po-boy, gumbo, chargrilled oysters, yardbird, and smash burger. The shrimp in the po-boy was bland and overcooked; nothing Cajun about it at all. The gumbo was surprisingly decent, and my wife really liked the oysters. The yardbird was a decent chicken sandwich, nothing special. The smash burger wasn't smashed at all, but my daughter seemed to like it. The live jazz (Nina Hungerland) was really fun. All in all, probably the only visit for us.
Waitstaff, music and food was exceptional. Dined inside to stay cool and was still able to enjoy the live music playing outside in the Voodoo lounge. Would definitely recommend and come back next time in New Orleans
It is beautifully decorated, with nice waiters and staff. The manager is always walking around. Food is delicious. The music adds the perfect touch to what New Orleans is all about.
Drinks were nice and good was alright but was all overpriced for what you got. Things would need to be more affordable pricing if they want anyone to visit this place in a regular or order a substantive amount.

Our server was great. The hostess was awesome. The food and drinks were HORRIBLE. Never again. We ordered the oysters, nachos, a margarita and some other drink too terrible to remember. If I could give a negative I would.
We ate in the Voodoo lounge. The bar staff was excellent. The atmosphere was energetic. The food was very good. Finished off with Kermit Ruffins in the HOB concert hall.
I ordered the nachos and they were stale. They ice tea was watered down. The place was freezing. Service was good.
Food was ok. No Blues at all or jazz. Weird experimental music that was more noise than any music
Very disappointed that they had taken Baby Back Ribs off of the menu - we had checked out the menu before booking and was the only reason we decided to visit!
