Cool 80's vibe. Had a really nice dinner. Fab was our waitress. She looked like a Solid Gold dancer and was amazing. Her friendly personality, attentiveness added to a fun evening. Carlos took great care of us at the bar when we arrived. I definitely recommend.

I brought my friend here for her birthday after careful research and consideration. We sat at the bar. The woman at the bar was not helpful and she wasn’t even in the weeds. We tried to engage and ask questions and she dismissed us and turned her back. Not a good first impression. We hear the food is amazing, but honestly, not going to stay that long. First impressions still matter. Having been in hospitality I get it sometimes the holidays are hard, but to be so dismissive is just rude.

Starting this just by saying I never write reviews, let alone negative ones, but the service I experienced here left a pretty bad impression. I came here for the very first time to grab a quick drink with someone and the woman making the drinks had an attitude for a reason I did not understand. She was incredibly dismissive when I tried to ask questions and didn’t even respond when I thanked her. Pretty disappointing experience, especially since I was really excited to try this place out. The atmosphere was cool. The drink itself was great. I was even considering bringing other friends there in the future, but honestly I won’t be back. I’ve worked in the service industry myself for years at bigger places with much higher volume and I would have never behaved that way. There’s really no excuse.
Having been to the other three restaurants under the Mason Hereford umbrella—Turkey and the Wolf, Molly’s Rise and Shine, and Hot Stuff—I was excited to try Hungry Eyes, expected the food to be great and the atmosphere unique and whole-assed. I was not prepared to have one of the best culinary experiences that New Orleans has to offer. The drinks were spectacular, the food fresh and exciting and unexpected, and the service, as always, top-notch. The best fries I’ve had in New Orleans—if not ever—served with strong as savory toum; smoky artichoke on the half-shell served with crusty bread; fresh roti for the charred cabbage with peanuts, cilantro, yogurt and Szechuan peppercorn oil…I don’t know if I can pick the best offering. Luckily I don’t have to, because I plan to go back and get everything again very soon. I cannot recommend Hungry Eyes highly enough.

Food was fantastic but my $65 steak was raw, like purple raw. I was not checked on after my food was served. We sat at the bar & Lauren was great. Excellent martinis and apps. But after our food was served, nobody checked on us. We boxed our food and left. Paying 200 bucks plus, I expected better service. I was traveling and made these reservations months ago and was so excited. I left disappointed. Sucks cuz I'm in the industry and I never would have let this happen. Checking on guest's satisfaction is number one.
