So much better than my last visit several years ago. So much! It's back to its old self and I am happy for it. The dining room is one of the most comfortable I've ever had the joy of eating in, intimate. I look forward to working my way through the crepes all over again! Mussels, vinaigrette avocado, goat cheese salad, dessert crepes. I had the salmon with bernaise and it was as delicately perfect as I remembered. (The dash across Prytania to the Creole Creamery is just as life-affirming as I remember because if you make it alive, you are ready for some ice cream for sure even if you had that dessert crepe.) Sometimes you can go home again (restaurant-wise).

Everything from the staff and ambiance, to the other guests and food. Truly amazing. I had so much fun.

I’ve probably eaten here 50 times in the 20+ years I’ve lived in the area. It’s one of my favorite French restaurants not just in New Orleans but the world—including France. The Art Nouveau style fused with local art makes the perfect backdrop for a cozy dinner. Service is always impeccable and the food is top notch—I’ve tried most of the menu items. All are good but the escargot and bread are especially *chef’s kiss*. Oh and the steak and the seafood and the soups and the drinks and the crêpes. Seriously, you can’t go wrong—they have everything from light to heavier fare and I’ve always gone away happy.Parking: Free street parking, never had a problem.Kid-friendliness: My daughter chooses to come here every year for her birthday. They could not be more gracious with families!

I have been dining at La Crepe Nanou for over 30 years. One of my menu go to items read always the mussels, some of the best ever. However, this visit's mussels were quite lackluster. They packed the flavor and depth that I am used to. They were good but not great or even exceptional, in fact they were disappointing. However, everything else was great to fantastic. Please fix the mussels or I will have to go to Cafe Degas.

For a long time, La Crepe Nanou has been a favorite. The food is well prepared and presented. It is always a welcoming place that I look forward to returning.

I am leaving this review from the back corner with my boyfriend who made the FATAL mistake of allowing me to decide where to take me for my birthday. His meal was full of fragmented crab shells, even the presentation alone looked like disgusting public school cafeteria food. Disgraceful. The interior design is a first grader’s idea of « romantic ». SHAMEFUL!

Our first date was 23 years ago there, so we went back for our 20th Anniversary. It was somewhat disappointing. I’m not sure if our young waitress was overwhelmed or just didn’t care. She would disappear for long period of time and need to be chased down for everything from utensils, wine, to the check. The food was mostly very good. The fondue was excellent. Although the bread for the fondue was a little hard and the asparagus was soft. Just from experience at other restaurants eating fondue, I would recommend pairs and apples along with the bread for dipping instead of tomatoes, potatoes, asparagus, etc. the escargot wasn’t bad, but I probably wouldn’t have it again. Could have used more garlic and seasoning. The salad and the salmon were very good. If we had a better server this meal could easily be 4 star, but service matters. At the end of the meal the waitress completely disappeared and I had to pay the bill at the bar. As we walked out, we saw her sitting down and eating a meal by the front door. I just hope her server was better than ours. I think we may wait some time before we give it another chance. There are too many great restaurants in New Orleans with great service to sit through that.

Love this place. I try to come every time I’m in the city. Absolutely charming atmosphere, excellent food, good service. This is not a fast paced place. Prepare to spend time soaking in the atmosphere and company. I would not recommend coming here with someone you can’t have a conversation with.Great for a date or just having a good dinner with friends.

Classic French cuisine with a Louisiana influence. Fondue, crepes, escargot, were all first class.

We had a great experience at dinner here on a Saturday night. We had the mussels, escargot, cheese board, and crab and avocado salad. I’m looking forward to our next trip and trying more from the menu!

I was sad to see how much La Crepe Nanou has declined because I have been going there since the late 90's. It is a cherished locale, and the memory of many first dates for so many people in our City, and it is another memory that's slowly going away.I took my 80th year old mother and her best friend to dinner on Saturday, despite having a reservation and letting the host know in advance that we'll be coming with two senior ladies, we had to wait standing at the bar for our table to be ready for quite a while.Once seated, we were cornered against the last table and could barely fit the four of us, as there was no room to pull the chairs.Lastly, we had a very nice gentleman tending to our table, but he was overworked, as he was tending too many tables on his own. There was a long wait to take the drinks and food orders. Bread was not delivered to the table, and when we asked for it a small plate with 6 thin slices of semi-stale bread was delivered along with the first course. The worst part was at the end of our meal, when we were done with dinner and the dirty plates were not removed from the table for at least 15minutes. My partner had to go the host to get our bill and pay for it, only at that time we were asked if we wanted to order desert, at that point ice cream across the street seemed like the best option. The only saving grace of our dinner were the delicious onion soup and the sweetbreads, both dishes were as good as ever!
