Amazing experience. The food was amazing and the service was impeccable. We sat at the bar and Alex made our evening very special.

Wild South is the best place to enjoy a cozy, delicious meal focused on Southern cuisine.
We went on a Wednesday night the week before Christmas, so it was slower than normal, which allowed us to sit at the chef's table and get unfettered attention from the staff and chefs. We ordered the 5 course prefix menu, and everything came perfectly timed, and perfectly portioned, to the point where we left satisfied but not overly full. I paired this with their Sherry flight, which allowed me to experience a wide range of styles they have to offer.
The first course was an escabeche-esque snapper, eaten in a rice cracker. The second course was an ode to New England style chowder. Both items were not listed on the menu at the time.
We were interrupted by an intermezzo of uni and trout roe topped chicken schnitzel bites, followed by the vegetable course of broccolini, carrots and peppers, topped with a pumpkin XO sauce, and goat creme fraiche.
The main course was a brined and one-week dry-aged pork chop, with radicchio and sweet potatoes.
Pre-dessert was a refreshing scoop of strawberry sorbet, and dessert was a nod to chocolate mint ice cream, but with merengue and toasted sesame, along with Creole cream cheese custard with strawberries and poached carrots.
Overall we had an amazing time, enjoying our camaraderie with the chefs and staff, and would highly recommend going back and enjoying a meal with friends. We will definitely be back when we return to New Orleans.

Truly fabulous. Everything was delicious, and we had some truly unique ingredient combinations I've never even considered before! I think those were the best mustard greens I've ever had. Can't wait to go back.

It is supremely difficult to share photos and a glowing review of what may well be my wife and I's favorite restaurant in the city...

It's exterior is very unassuming and discreet. The vibe and the flow of the place is very relaxed - and has undertones of a graduate level research lab.

Here's why: the food (and the drinks!) This is a food lover/nerd/connoisseur paradise. The dishes and how their ingredients play together and are presented is nothing short of brilliant.

And it all works. The bartenders, servers, and chefs all play a role in food service and presentation of each dish - and it's not stuffy, pretentious, or dry, as is so often the case with fine dining. It is fun, intimate, and perfectly enjoyable on every level.

A+

Came alone on a date for myself.
The food is honestly so. Innovative, beautiful, and DELICIOUS.
Wow. I didn’t expect it. I also did the wine pairing and wow.
They opened my mind to wines I would not normally gravitate to.
One of the best solo dates I’ve ever had.
What a treat.
I highly recommend it as a local. It’s phenomenal and the team working
Front annd back of the house are wonderful.

Incredible!!!
We were talking over dinner and decided it feels like a Michelin star chef is having you over for a private dinner party. The atmosphere and the service were refined like you would expect from fine dining, but something about there only being 11 tables inside and the personable service made it feel very warm and welcoming at the same time. The kitchen is WIDE open and it is so fun to watch. It was just the two head chefs at work in the kitchen, and they served us several of our courses, which was absolutely incredible that the guests receive that at all tables without having to sit some kind of special “chef’s table”.
But every single employee is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. For a fine-dining place with what I thought was a pre-fixe menu only, I was so surprised at the flexibility they offer. If you sit at the bar, you can order a la carte, but even at a table when our server informed us about the wine pairing option to go with the 5-course, she let us know we could do the pairings with only some courses if we chose. So we got the wine pairings with course three and four only, and I loved being able to do that as someone who wanted to drink a little less but still enjoy the incredible pairings I have heard raving reviews about! They also take special care to accommodate any dietary restrictions.
Each dish in the 5 course tasting menu was delicious and complex. And the ingredients are all locally sourced, and they often tell you a little backstory of where each comes from as you are being served! Each course had SO many unique and creative components that all came together perfectly- it was truly so much fun trying each one. And the wine pairings were out of this world as well and like nothing I have ever had before, but what at this restaurant was not… What just makes this even more incredible is that the tasting menu changes every two weeks. And a 5 course tasting menu of this quality for $95?! You truly cannot find this anywhere else. It was a 10/10 all around in every sense.

A magazine review brought us to this restaurant and we were not disappointed. Entering our 8th decade on earth we were concerned with the portion size but were extremely pleased. All three courses (Wednesdays and Thursdays) were completed and we were not "stuffed". Next time it's five courses because we don't want to miss out on any of the good food. To say service was exemplary would be an understatement. Each dish was delivered and explained which added to the overall satisfaction. Hope we will be able to greet you there on our next visit (real soon).
