I used to live in New Orleans ( midcity). Walking distance to Liuzza's. It was a favorite place to grab lunch. Recently went to New Orleans and had lunch at Liuzzas. Just as good as I remembered.

The food is excellent here! Their menu has me wanting to come back soon! And they serve their drinks in a frozen glass. I didn't have a beer this time, but I look forward to one in the future! The only constructive feedback I'd give is that, even though the place was almost empty when I went, the staff didn't come check on us unless we flagged them down.

I didn't eat, but I could see happy families coming in for dinner. Just needed a place to have a drink or two with friends. And this place was perfect

This place is amazing. My friend and I went here last week.
We ordered fried mushrooms almost immediately and we couldnt believe how fast they came.
They were HOT and DELICIOUS. Tjey were done perfectly.
We got the ranch and remoulaide. Im not sure how to spell it. Lol. Absolutely fantastic.
Next he got the veal and i got the red beans and rice with hot sausage, a salad, and bread. Mine was only $15 for that.
We both got a salad with our dish and once again it came unbelievably fast.
We had house salad, I had blue cheese and italian for my salad. Both were wonderful.
The red beans and rice were fantastic. And the hot sausage was actually fried on a grill I believe.
It gave it a crispiness I was not expecting, but was SUPER surprising, and I cant tell you how much I loved it.
It really brought out the flavor. I was stuffed.
The whole time we had a VERY friendly waiter.
Umfortunately its been a couple of days since I was able to write this so her name slipped my mind
But she was genuinely likeable. And I was glad that she served us.
She made us feel comfortable and well taken care of.
We went on a sunday afternoon. It had people there, but wasnt slammed.
If you are looking for a restaurant thats as New Orleans as New Orleans has to offer, then I suggest Liuzza's. You won't regret it!

Food was good, service was awful. Took forever for us to be waited on at all and took forever to get our order taken. Waitress and expo complaining that “everyone came all at once” at 6:30pm… I wonder why. They only had 1 waitress for the 10 tables inside and outside tables. Didn’t get my $4 drink refilled at all. Honestly just skip this place.

Had a great time meeting up with family the Wednesday before mrdi gras madness began. Beautiful day. Absolutely amazing service. Our waitress was so polite and made sure we got the right food the way it should come. As it has been for a long time, perfect. We enjoyed ourselves and will be back again. The roast beef po boy was the only thing I could get a photo of before everything was eaten! Also the frosted mug of root beer of course!

Had the Frencholetta, debris fries and a meatball because I have to try one meatball at every restaurant I eat at who has meatballs on the menu. All the food was outstanding as was the service. Liuzza’s is almost 80 years old. A fixture in Mid City. Highly recommend. We’ll be back. My Cosmo was the best I’ve ever had

The atmosphere was everything you would expect from a New Orleans eatery. Definitely that old Nola vibe. Our sever was friendly and kind, the only reason for a 4 was that we never got refills on drinks even though that sat empty for some time. The food was good, I had red beans and rice with sausage. The salad that came with it had peppers on it which was a very pleasant surprise, wish there was a bit of fresh cheese on there though. The red beans were cooked perfectly but could use a little more seasoning. Overall it was very good, I'd recommend and go back.

Absolutely delish food and welcoming vibe.
Cocktails are generous, well-made, and not over-priced.
We ate outside: the front patio is fantastic, and since that part of Bienville is not jam packed with traffic, it's peaceful and sans auto fumes. Huge oaks offer additional shade and the tables are comfy. The bar looks cozy, dark, and beckoning. I can't wait to return for Happy Hour. They even said my dog was welcome in the bar too, so I'll be back!
Drank authentic French 75 and Bellini. Ate Fried Catfish Platter with red beans and salad. Damn that's some good catfish; fried just right: juicy, crisp breading, not overdone or dry. Red beans aren't bad either.
Prompt, attentive service, without being overbearing.
Really loved this "hidden" local spot and will definitely be back!
