The best beignets! Crispy exterior, soft layered interior. And the crab filled beignets are a must try!

Thank you Loretta’s!

I stopped by Loretta’s to try their famous crab beignet, and I was not disappointed. Visiting from Connecticut, this was my first beignet experience in New Orleans, and it set the bar high. The crab beignet was soft, light, and fluffy, with tender, flavorful crab meat that was absolutely delicious.

I’d heard beignets are usually sweet, but I couldn’t pass up the savory crab version—and I’m glad I didn’t. Later, I tried the sweet beignet at Café Du Monde, and while it was good, it was noticeably thicker and heavier. Personally, I’d stick with Loretta’s.

I also grabbed two sweet potato pies, which were excellent—not overly sweet and the perfect way to finish things off. This place truly deserves its praise. Coming from Connecticut and having this be my first New Orleans beignet experience, I can confidently say it was an A+. Thanks for having me!

Crab, chocolate & praline beignets were amazing! The sweet potato pie can’t be missed either!

The beignets here are phenomenal, if you come to New Orleans and want a beignet OR a praline, Loretta’s should be your first stop. Get away from the crowds and enjoy the best beignets in the city. The crab beignet just might be the best thing I ate during my visit to the city. There’s also a ton of history at this location and I encourage you to support a local legend!

We tried the classic, crab filled and praline filled beignets and all of them were so delicious!

I never had beignets and was a little apprehensive to try the praline beignets because I’m not a big fan of nuts and thought it would have a nutty taste, but I’m so glad I tried them because they were absolutely addictively delicious! I was thinking about them all day, so then I wanted to try praline beignets again later on in the day again at the popular Cafe Beignets on Canal St. and honestly those beignets were a let down after trying the amazing ones at Loretta’s. I highly recommend going to Loretta’s if anyone is interested in trying praline beignets.

By far the BEST beignets in New Orleans. The staff are so warm and welcoming. They can answer all your questions and they will not lead you wrong. The beignets are absolutely divine. I cannot find the words to describe how delightful the beignets, pralines and cookies are. If you're in the city and you want to try some unique beignets that you won't find anywhere else this is your place.

The girl working here was so sweet and the dining room is very clean. Loved the crab beignet we got (and coconut praline). It was the perfect size for a quick snack after jamnola.
