The crab beignets and praline beignets were delicious! Will always go here when visiting!!
This place was def a stop if you love sweets. I mean I love sweets but a tad too sweet for me. Would def be good as filling in cinnamon rolls. We had the praline cookies and praline filled beignets. Very fresh hot made right there, you hv to wait as they make them. Great affordability and lots to do around it in the French market. Even my elder dog loved them.
Hands down the best praline and crab beignets in New Orleans
Love this place
Walked with my family all the way from our hotel to arrive at 2:59, in line, and then told the last people to get any food would be the people in front of us (because the store decided to close up shop an hour early - I’m sure they had their reasons…). And then when we were told they were closed someone in line behind us still was given a chance to order. Disappointed since I heard these were the best in town :(
Enjoy the food
Best beignet I've had
Times are different then listed
The length of the queue fooled us. The pralines are much worse than those tasted on Bourbon Street. Too sweet, dry, pre-packaged, and the welcome from the saleswoman is unlikely to compensate for the quality of the products. Everything is said!
Literally the best beignets in the city!
And you HAVE to get a Sweet Potato Pie cookie! They’re so delicious that I actually moaned when I tasted one!

Them beignets are to die for!!!! Loretta’s is my all time favorite for beignets. We talking layers in them beignets that don’t make you feel heavy. Worth the wait. The chocolate chip praline cookies is another thing to order. This location is more to go type spot, there are 4 picnic style tables in front of their set up you can try to grab a seat.
We came here twice in two days. We tried the traditional, crab, and crawfish beignets. We tried this place before we went to cafe beignet and Loretta’s is SO much better. These beignets are light, flaky, and hot! The traditional is sweet but not overpowering. The crawfish was our favorite. It’s a perfect balance between sweet and savory. The crab is also delicious.
If you’re visiting New Orleans, you have to check out my full review on YouTube at Faith’s Faves before you go—I promise you’ll want to hear why Loretta’s Pralines in the French Market was the first place I went the second I touched down in NOLA.
I tried this spot two years ago, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. The moment I got back to New Orleans, it was my must-visit—and it was even better than I remembered. Forget Café du Monde—these are the best beignets in the city, no contest.
They’re perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, and packed with flavor that blows every other beignet out of the water. If you’re after that one bite of food that sticks with you long after your trip, this is it.
Want to see why these beignets are worth obsessing over? Head over to Faith’s Faves on YouTube for my full review and find out why Loretta’s is a must-visit for anyone in New Orleans!
(Visited in November during my cross-country road trip and finally updating all my travel reviews now)
The best Beignets in the French Quarter ( sweet and savory options). Been visiting here yearly & this place holds down #1 to all the places. They have a seasonal crab and crawfish beignets and they are AMAZING!
If you’re looking to skip the long line at Cafe du Monde or are maybe looking for a different beignet place to try, go to Loretta’s. Loretta’s beignets were fresh, flavorful, light and airy. In my opinion my favorite of the four places we tried in NOLA for beignets.
