Lufu is an amazing and cozy restaurant just minutes away for the grit of Canal street. The food, service and the overall experience exceeded my expectations. I had the Tandoori Lamb burra, the lamb was so tender it will melted in my mouth. This is a must go to for anyone that has grown tired of the gumbo and New Orleans traditional food. Take a chance, ppl!
AMAZING! The goan shrimp curry was delicious and the garlic naan was the best I’ve ever had! Great service from Gopi too!! He was very kind and quick!
Great food ..specially sambar ❤️
LUFU NOLA is an absolute vibe! stylish, fun, and full of personality. The drinks are creative and delicious, and the food is on point with bold flavors and a modern twist on NOLA favorites. The staff is super friendly and knows how to keep the good times rolling. Whether you’re out for a night with friends or just want a cool spot to unwind, LUFU delivers on every level. Easily one of the hottest spots in the city right now. 5 stars all the way!
Delicious Indian food, especially the pani puri! Pretty pricey relative to other Indian restaurants but the food was good and portions were a decent size.
Gem of a place in NOLA! Amazinggg food, excellent service and great atmosphere 10/10 for everything. We went in with 2 toddlers and the server accommodated all our requests including an additional side of just tomatoes. We did palak paneer, dal makhani, jackfruit biryani and Malabar fish curry and gajar halwa. Everything was spot on!
Had meal twice at Lufu Nola. I would recommend this restaurant. Has good flavour, although the price might seem high but the quantity and quality is at par with pricing. Friendly staff. Great service
it used to be good, but our experience yesterday was horrible…we only came because of the pani poori, but this time it was super bland even with the chutney…got kadhai paneer for mains and it tasted like, well, nothing…drinks were okay but for $35/person i expect more…plus, they used to have good food but i suppose the awards got to their head or wtv…either way, namaste nola is literally a few blocks down and you will get incredible food for literally half the price yw…wont be returning to lufu though
had to come back and edit this: we all got sick after having dinner here so...do with that what you will :)
The food is excellent. They clearly mark different dietary restrictions. The dishes were also plentiful.
I highly recommend this place.
I visited LUFU NOLA during my trip to New Orleans after reading some glowing reviews—and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The food was fantastic, the service was attentive, and the cocktail selection was impressive.
We started with the Paneer Tikka, which arrived sizzling hot—the paneer was soft, well-marinated, and packed with flavor. My friend ordered a chicken dish that she thoroughly enjoyed, and we also shared the Kadhai Paneer, which was equally delicious.
One thing I really appreciated was how our server paced out the dishes perfectly, just as we had requested. It made the dining experience relaxed and enjoyable.
But the highlight for me was the bread. Unlike many places that serve thick, doughy naan and rotis, LUFU’s garlic naan and plain butter naan were soft, thin, and just perfect.
Overall, I absolutely loved this place—amazing food, great drinks, warm service, and a lovely ambiance. Highly recommend!

The food is okay but the prices are surprisingly high compared to the quality, and amount! The rice in each platter was not enough for one person, so gotta order an extra which was charged extra $4. Service was below average, have to ask twice for extra rice and the lady who took the order first time simply just ignored the order.. Totally disrespectful! There is a lot of better place to dine in with less price tag.. This was first time and simply the last time going to that place..
Went to Lufu Nola in the French quarter for dinner not expecting much from an indian restaurant in Creole Country but was absolutely pleasantly surprised. The food is delicious and authentically indian. They're not joking about the spice level. Would absolutely go there again. Ordered the bullet naan, kadhai paneer, paani puri.
I was here for a conference and went to LUFU as it looked great from the outside. I went here for dinner by myself and was seated at the bar. The food and alcohol was great. I ordered the chicken biryani and it was full of flavor. I also got a Kairi drink for cocktails and it hit the spot. My server Rohan went above and beyond to ensure that I had a great experience. Definitely recommend
Excellent dishes, incredibly knowledgeable server, vibes immaculate. Definitely coming back!!
The food was to die for! Gopi was an amazing server! The flavor is out of this world 😍 10/10 recommend
