Wonderful! Please try the Escargot and bone marrow app! Thank you for great service and a happy belly.
In a City known for oysters I think Luke offers both diversity of choice and outstanding quality. Our favorite oyster restaurant in NOLA.
Never had anything here that was anything less than amazing! The fried oyster salad and the trout almondine are my favorites. But, every selection has been excellent!
Overall, I'd say our experience was ok. We felt a little rushed when the appetizers and entree came out all at once and it was quick. Which would have been fine but the pork belly was not warm enough and the charred broccoli was tough and undercooked. Shrimp and grits and beet salad were delicious. It was a fun vibe and atmosphere and cocktail were very good.
Great meal with good services. Restaurant kept going so plenty of seating. While the restaurant was busy and noisy, the food came quickly.
Loved the table in front in corner - perfect for business conversation. Always great service and great food!
My food came out cold twice and was unseasoned. The manager did remove the meal from the check, but I was very surprised at how mediocre the food is here.
The food quality and how the dishes were prepared from last summer decreased. Recipes were changed. A couple years f the great appetizers from last summer were not offered. My specked trout was fair at best and definitely not worth the price.our server never asked us how was the food. With so many great choices for restaurants in NOLA, we will not be back. From the appetizers to the three entrees we ordered, the only positive was the bread pudding, which was delicious.
They were six of us in our party and we all had an incredible experience. We were taken to the dining area by the kitchen, which was glassed in. It was nice and quiet. Also fun to watch the chefs at work. Fried oysters, which I got at happy hour for two dollars each were the best I've ever had! Trout, pork, chicken, hamburger, and bisque were all left with empty plates. The Brussel sprouts were crispy and amazing. I could have made a meal off of those. Definitely shareable. Service was quick and efficient. We will definitely be returning!
I come to Luke every time I come to NOLA. I always get the Shrimp & Grits along with the Chicken & Waffles. They do an amazing job splitting both meals between 2 people. This time, my server asked if we wanted crab on top. Ofcourse we said yes. My server NEVER mentioned the price. Found out when getting our bill that it was $14 to put a little bit of crab meat on the $18 shrimp & grits. Make it make sense. The staff should lead with....”would you like to add crab for $14”. The food is delicious and I will be back but I won't be getting the $14 tiny bit of lump crab meat on my $18 shrimp & grits.
Restaurantji Recommends
As you can see from my reservation history, we like to eat very well in good places. We went because the recommendations were very good. The food was excellent, unfortunately, the service was not. The woman who was our server took my plate away before I had finished, and my husband was still eating. I didn't say anything, but then she brought me the dessert menu while my husband still hadn't finished his main course. The wine glasses were all wet with wine! I think she needs a lot more training, especially the person who served us. The restaurant itself was very nice, but the experience was not good because of the person who served us.
My spouse and I had dinner here recently. While our food was good, there were just a few things about our experience that caused me to give only 4 stars overall. Let me talk about the food first. We went with the pan seared duck over duck dirty rice and the herb roasted chicken with sweet potato cornbread and collard greens. The food was well prepared and quite tasty. I thought the duck dirty rice was the best dirty rice I’ve ever eaten — seriously delicious. My spouse enjoyed the chicken and said the greens were delicious. We also ordered the bread with salted butter—really good! For the type of restaurant this is, I expected to see someone checking on guests more frequently and covering drink refills. Everyone who came to our table was friendly throughout our meal. We were told that there’d be 3 servers covering our area, but we went without anyone checking on us for quite a while after our food came out. We needed refills yet there was no one taking care of this. We had to flag down a server (or maybe a manager, not sure) after we’d been without drinks for quite awhile. This person was not assigned to our table but did get refills to us & apologized for the delay. After this, we were checked on more often, which was appreciated. Overall, an enjoyable experience and maybe they were short on servers that evening. I do recommend making reservations as they get busy quickly and stay busy. They were kind enough to move our reservation up to an earlier time when I called to ask about that—very much appreciated.
The oyster happy hour is great. The fried oysters are a stand out. Craft cocktails are good too. Service is lacking...you have to stalk the bar tender to order food and drink.
