Stopped in with the hubby on the way to Maryland from Houston. We wanted to find a local place that was off the beaten path.We were thoroughly impressed with our meal. I had the fried porkchops with candied yams and potato salad. The porkchops were humongous compared to what I'm used to and they were fried perfectly. The candied yams and mashed potato salad were both addictive.The hubby had the seafood pasta, fried fish, and jambalaya. The pasta sauce was flavorful, but he was sad there wasn't more crab that was noticeable. However he did love the jambalaya and wished he had gotten a double helping of it instead of a salad.Definitely worth a visit for comfort food that's a great price for the portion size.

We were on a family trip to Alabama for the holidays. Stopped in and enjoyed every thing from the smothered pork chops to chicken wings to the YAMs and collard greens very flavorful and tasteful we glad we stopped in.

Almost never write a review, but this place demands it. Top 5 meal I've ever eaten. The box doesn't look like much, but hold on. You're about to go for a ride. Candied yams, greens, Smothered Pork Chops. I thought i was going to need hot sauce... then I noticed there was none on the tables or counters. There must be a reason.... There was!! Everything is perfect straight from the kitchen! Seasoning, tenderness, texture. All served hot with plasticware as soul food should be. This box is a treasure box.. get you one.

Caution, This place is very expensive for food that tastes like Hospital food, I wasted my money because I just threw the whole plate away, The Girl who works the front counter has a horrible Attitude, She stays on the phone while you trying to order and has the nerves to act like the customer is the problem not worth the money for such bad customer service!!!
Excellent food! I got the stuffed (cat)fish and it was excellent. It was blacked and stuffed with crab and shrimp and so yummy. It was similar to blackened catfish with a crab-cake/seafood-cake on top. The Mac and cheese was homemade and delish. The seafood rice had crawfish and shrimp. The prices are amazing also. This is a great place to eat. Note: it's a solid 4.5.

I'm going to tell you right now I love the food the yams macaroni and potato salad freaking delicious I love the fried and stewed chicken being right around the corner from my place of business very convenient call in the order most of the time it's waiting for me when I get there but if it's not no more than a couple of minutes and it's hot to the point where I have to let it cool off to eat it I'm in there a couple of times a week and the young man that works there knows me by name and very respectful I really recommend this place.

Food is delicious. Sometimes the workers aren’t as pleasant maybe they’re tired. I forgot a drink from an online order No one called to tell me they forgot to give it to me. So I lost that money. Other than that the food is always good.
