Visited in early March. We were wandering down Bourbon Street heading for a different bar but came across this place. What a revelation! It appeared fairly quiet, but had a great jazz band playing, and felt really authentic. The beer was excellent and the barman kept things flowing, including the jokes. Also, had a great Sazerac. We took in the atmosphere and were entranced by the music.Would definitely recommend a visit, and would love to go back again.

A lovely place to hear jazz on Bourbon St. We walked past the bar and stood at the window to listen to the band. The next evening we stopped in, sat at the bar and had a quick drink as we enjoyed the band. Definitely worth sitting down on the comfy chairs for good

To be kicked out of a place because you are the sober person with a group of people who were buying multiple drinks is absurd. Good job guys!

This is such a great bar--IF you get a good band. I've been several times now, and sometimes the band is just outstanding and other times the band is almost intolerable. Unfortunately, this last trip was the latter. Leroy Marshall Band was the band, and there was so much not to love. Only a single brass instrument and some underwhelming background "smooth jazz" piano/guitar. And the lead & brass player was...obnoxious. Came off like a total huckster, manic, spent more than half the time talking/half-singing, did very little brass instrument playing, and they would play each song in a cheesy "words changed for Maison Bourbon" way for muuuuuch longer than the song was charming. I've spent hours there before, but this time we could only take about 15-20 minutes of it before we decided we had to go elsewhere. Really unfortunate, as the other bands I've seen there (Catie Rogers and Gentilly Stompers, for instance) were absolutely phenomenal. So this place can be really terrific, or a total dud, and it comes down entirely to the band they've got for the evening. Would be so nice if they kept their website better updated with who was playing on the weekends, so you could know ahead of time whether it'll be worth the visit or no.

DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE. Worst service ever. While ordering drinks two in our party went to use the bathroom, only to be told to leave VERY Rudely, of course after we paid for our drinks. Will never come back, will give 0 stars if possible
