It was pretty rowdy and upfront here...middle of mardis gras. Staff were working it hard. This is a bar for solid drinking and fun as an out of towner.Loved the sign outside a lot.

We enjoyed this little bar for a couple of hours. Drink prices are good, decor is definitely awesome with lots of local character. Bartender and owner are good to chat with. Not very busy, but that was fine.

Definitely one of my favorites in the neighborhood, Lydia and Denise always make me feel like I'm at home. Everyone here just seems to want to have fun and throw back a few drinks after work. Cash only doesn't bother me but some people prefer cards and they have an ATM inside so you don't have to go anywhere if you forgot your bills at home. The ceiling has some pretty cool decorations too! I swear I see something new everytime I go

RIP Miss Gertie! The Mayfair is a unique little jewel in the Touro neighborhood and always a great place to end the night.

*LADIES BEWARE*To preface, I normally love this bar as we would visit anytime during Mardi Gras and were in the area for years. However on 2-11-23, had some trouble. The long short is a guy who said he worked there physically assaulted my female friend. Started by asking said friend for her ID after we had been there for 2+ hours with a group of about 12 people going in and out back and forth to the parade, and when it was presented he promptly threw it on the ground at her feet and then shoved her 3 times in a row almost knocking her to the ground each time. Unfortunately the female bartender working at the time grabbed him into the bar and told us to leave. Which we happily did. The bartender protected a fat l**** who assaults women. He was white, 5'11-6 ft tall, about 300+ lbs, full beard and shaved head. Seemed like regular based off bartenders reaction. Will not be going back.

One of the great dives of New Orleans. This place has all the old school vibe you want in a New Orleans neighborhood dive bar. The bar itself is so old who knows how old. The beer is cheap and cold. Great late night last stop if you live uptown.

Best dive bar ever. Cash only.

On the dive bar tour, this is one place you might list as best experienced under the influence. Cheap booze, lots to look at, the ceiling in particular is a work of art (in progress) and a easy to get along with crowd. Don't be put off by having to be buzzed in, but I'd still park near the front door. As NOLA neighborhood dive bars goes, this is right in there and on my regular places to visit when in town. Cash is king here, no CC's accepted.
