1st visit in 2024 and couldn't wait to come back. So sad to hear it's closing down 😫 Looking forward to Chef Gulotta's next chapter.
Super super disappointed in this place. Travel all over the world for food and this place was highly recommended by locals as one of the best restaurants. Let me preface by saying they have a tasting menu for $150 or you can order ala carte. For us, we assumed the service would match the menu pricing. Unfortunately far from the truth. After dining the night before at Saffron Nola where the food, cocktails and service were top notch, this place fell way short. Hostess took us to a counter that wasn't ready. Gave us new plates but never wiped the tables. Service felt like fast food.. dump and run. Waitress wasn't personable... didn't talk about the food at all, barely spoke to us. At these prices, expected better. Good was ok but nothing spectacular.. would not recommend or return.
Had the tasting menu, the grand one. Lot of fun and tasty bites. Some were better than others but overall, a good meal. Maybe a little pricey for the end result but still flavorful and well presented. Service was very good.
Maypop is one of the most unique restaurants in the City. The menu consists of Asian fusion specialties. Never quite sure what the menu describes, as the ingredients are exotic, the flavors blend to a down home comfort food. The short rib debris was one of the best dishes in the City. Trust your carefully trained servers, their recommendations always are always spot on.
We had the tasting menu and it was a great choice to experience many different dishes. Really nice space and well-appointed dining area. The food was delicious and the portions were appropriate for the price. Maypop is a must if you want a break from the typical New Orleans food offerings.
Only issue was parking i know not restaurant issue as the city has blocked many spots which are unnecessary due to the collapse of the building across the street, we usually come here prior to going to events at Sanger but tonight had a 2nd parking cost but understand same but just hated to pay another 30 bucks to visit, Food and service was dynamite
The 8-course chef tasting was far from exceptional. The temperature was cold for the entire meal and as a foodie, I was shocked at both the lack of training for their staff and the quality and taste of the food. I am so disappointed.
First order was ridiculously fully of greasy pork short rib (really no meat) and they changed after we complained 2. Short ribs also not different. I couldn’t eat too much. Also too expensive for small portions. But kokteyl section was very nice.

Everything was AMAZING! The ambiance, the fried oysters, the drum fish, and the unique drinks. And most of all the wonderful friendly service! What a great experience.

We had the 5 course tasting menu with the wine pairings and it was excellent! We loved everything. Well worth traveling outside of the French Quarter for tourists.

Amazing flavors, modern industrial decor, fantastic service! Can’t recommend this place enough. Very thoughtful southeast Asian fusion flavors featuring fresh ingredients! Don’t sleep on the annatto rolls, and the coconut flan with pandan granita was sublime. Definitely planning to return for the tasting menu!!!
Asian fusion done well! Subtle combinations with amazing flavors. Every dish ordered was delicious and different. Sometimes, a restaurant had one or two flavor profiles on repeat. Not this place.
This is my FAVORITE restaurant in the city. Their tasting menu is a whole experience. I don’t even need to know what’s coming - it’s always euphoric. I could listen to Nicole, their sommelier talk about wine for hours (while sipping.) Dot the bartender takes such care. <3 10/10 would recommend.

Best fusion place in NOLA.
Come for the Cobia, stay for all the different thick and chewy noodles. Commander's, GW Fins, and Maypop are must haves in NOLA.
No debate! Make the pilgrimage here before NOLA falls to ground any point this decade now.
Very well executed fusion of Indian flavors - reminded me a lot of my childhood eats in some ways.

One of my favorite restaurants in New Orleans. Extraordinary culinary experience. The fish was absolutely perfect. Everything was delicious. Great cocktails. Great wine list. Service was excellent. If you're a real foodie, you need to go to Maypop. 100% will be back whenever I'm in town.
