The food was really greasy like it had been fried in old grease and over priced...the red beans are not real they use the same red beans like Popeyes.Very Disappointed 😔

Visiting my home town for the big game festivities and decided to have lunch here after church. Staff were courteous, but the quality of my food was subpar. I ordered the 10 piece wing dinner. The chicken pieces were sooo small, it seems they could’ve been cut from cornish hens. Also, the fries were of the poorest quality—different sizes and shades, undercooked and limp with hardly any seasoning. Rather than a ventilated box, my dinner was packaged and served in a small brown paper bag sealed with scotch tape. This experience was very different from the great meals I’ve had here in years past. Very disappointing. Will never return or recommend.

SO JUICY! Consensus is this is the best fried chicken this group of 6 has ever had. The McHardy’s Bourbon sauce can’t be missed, and the Mango Habanero and Jerk sauces are also a must try. The fried okra was excellent. The staff were kind, attentive, helpful, and fab! Can’t wait to come back!! 11/10

Chicken was ok it lacked some some seasoning. Came out freshly fried and took around 15 mins. 8/10 for the chicken nothing special.

McHardy's is arguably one of the top three fried chicken spots in town; it’s sometimes our favorite. However, I'm deducting one star for inconsistency.
Tip: Call in your order 30 minutes before you pick it up.
On our most recent visit, Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, around 3:30-4 PM, we waited 40 minutes for two chicken breasts and sides. Fried chicken usually takes 20 minutes when cooked to order, and they were busy with customers waiting.
Despite some of the other reviews, we've always found the service to be friendly.
This time, our chicken had a hint of fried fish. The mashed potatoes, although homemade, were too salty. The dirty rice was pretty good, and the red beans and rice were great.
I hope this was an isolated incident. Next time, will go on a weekday and skip the sides, except for the red beans and rice.

This is by far the most flavorful chicken I have ever had in my life. I'm not from the south but I was recommended this place by locals and it did not disappoint. I didn't realize it was just a to-go place, but it wasn't that big of a deal. It takes awhile to get your order but everything is so hot an fresh when you receive it. This is worth the wait. It seemed like they had a lot of call ahead/online orders so it must be well known that it can take some time. Their lemonade and tea were amazing as well. Their sauces are so flavorful. I just loved everything about this place. The people are also sooooo nice there. Just grab yourself a meal and go sit in a park down the street, you won't regret it.

I’ve been going to mchardys for years. From the time they first opened until now they’ve always been a great black family owned business with good service and even better chicken. I can go several weeks without going in and they still will remember my name, and my order. Truly a New Orleans gem.

Drove across town and they were closed during posted business hour! ?
Didn't get food. They were closed even tho hours were posted saying they were open
This place won't win a customer service award any time soon. If you ask more than 2 questions or order past 3 meals they begin to get frustrated, agitated and shut down. First time and went there from a reference and everything they said that was good was a lie. The quality of food was depressing. From the service to the food was wrong. First and last time.
