The ambience is excellent and only surpassed by the stellar service and incomparable food.

Meril's in New Orleans is a casual, yet vibrant restaurant by celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse. Named after his daughter, Meril blends comfort and sophistication with a globally inspired, shareable menu and a welcoming Warehouse District vibe.

From the moment we stepped in to the time we left, the ambiance, service and especially the food, was absolutely amazing as always. We'll be back soon.

Food was delicious, wait service great, music got a little too loud to talk as restaurant was not crowded. Would definitely go back!

The service was bad and the time to wait for in between services and asking for the ticket was extremely long. Also the servers wasn't knowledgeable about the menu

Pregame for UFC fight. Great experience! 4 of us tried most everything. Expresso Martini was very good. The Korean ribs, Vietnamese wings, barbecue shrimp and cheese burger were among the notable call outs. Great service!

The food was unique but odd. The ribeye was excellent. The icebox pie was superb. The bread pudding had raisins. The bartenders (we sat at the bar) totally ignored us and appeared to be way too cool for us. I'm not cool so perhaps they were in-fact too cool. The first thing the gentleman said to us was “kitchen closes at 9. Let's get y'all's order in. Last call is now also”. Small caveat was that our reservation (made through open table) was at 9. The restaurant posted that option and we accepted. This was my birthday dinner with my husband. wish the wait staff would have been some form of courteous but that wasn't their vibe tonight. Cheers!

Dinner was EXCEPTIONAL. Chicken gumbo so good we licked our bowls! :). And the pineapple upside down cornbread was a perfect match ... Then we moved onto the veggie flatbread. Small plates are great because you get to taste so much of the menu! And the staff was attentive ... and in teams. Our team was Justin and Alexandria ... they were always there if you had a question or just wanted to chat. And we never had to wait for anything! Because they were a tag team. Brilliant!!!

The food at Meril tasted great! We had the chicken and honey biscuit with some sort of raspberry compote. We also tried the steak & egg flatbread which was delicious! The drinks tasted amazing and the music by DJ Arie was rolling! I hadn't been to Meril in over a year, but it never disappoints!

Excellent service and great dishes. The Congo Square Punch was such a refreshing drink. Would definitely recommend.

We ordered gumbo with chicken and sausage and it was delicious and seasoned perfectly! The special today was snapper with turnips. I substituted spinach for the turnips and the spinach alone was amazing by itself. The slushie was delicious as well the French 75! I would rate this restaurant a solid 8.5!

Lauren, our server, was great, explaining, the menu and the options. Drinks were good, shrimp tacos were delicious.

Opentable Diner

My wife and I have visited several of Emeril Lagasse's restaurants - The Fish House (many times, Chef's Table and Dining Room) and Delmonico (before they closed), both in Las Vegas. Plus, his places (when they were there) in Florida and Georgia. Each time we were treated to delicious food and excellent service. Which is why we were so surprised with our first visit to Meril in New Orleans. 1. The waiter spilled twice during the service. Only cleaned up once, the latter time. When he first poured Pellegrino (no clean up), and again when he tipped the bottle over later. 2. Two servers, Keys and Kevin, never removed the menus from the table. Not even after the first ordered item arrived. 3. Food service was out of order with the starter arriving after the salad. 4. Never asked if we wanted another bottle of Pellegrino, even though the bottle was empty. 5. No pasta spoon. And never checked on us after the entrees were delivered for us to ask. Over all we enjoyed, but it was a disappointing difference at Meril vs. his other restaurants.

The small plates were excellent. We even tried the turkey neck - it was yummy albeit not to everyone's taste. The service was excellent too - our waiter (Bruce) was fantastic - very helpful, fast, efficient and a super nice person. We had a great time and highly recommend it.

The service was friendly and charming yet non intrusive. Our pasta and steak entrees were delectable. The tiramisu was the best ever. I would have licked up the plate and bowl if I could do so without embarrassment!
