I tried the fried alligator and it was very good and filling. I didn't know what to expect but it was surprisingly good. The red beans and rice was pretty good too! The service was not that great and the girl who took my order acted like I was annoying her just by being there. I am glad the food tastes better than her attitude. The hush puppies are good too! If you are looking for something different try the alligator.
Seafood pasta and a shrimp po boy were excellent. Considering the price, even better. Red Beans and rice was the only thing that was not as good as expected. For the price you can't beat the amount of food.
This has been a restaurant that I have loved for 40 years! I no longer live in Baton Rouge, but any time I am in town or driving through, I always plan a visit! This time did not disappoint! The onion rings were just as I remembered! Flakey and big!!! Shrimp was fresh and wonderful!! Tried the burger too, it was superb!! Wish Mike Anderson's was in every town I visit!!
