We absolutely loved this place. We went for a parade, and ate and drank the entire 80 floats. The staff, especially Blaine, could not have been more accommodating. The drinks were great, the food was outstanding (hummus with sweetbreads, burgers, fries mainly – we did not yet get to steak, although that's coming soon in our next visit) and the afternoon was a pure delight.
Exceptional! The sweetbreads and hummus were some of the best I've ever had. The steak was perfectly cooked. Drinks were amazing. Chefs kiss
The service was ok but the food for new years wasn't very good. My lamp chops were under cooked to my liking the way I ordered Ana the French fries were served cold and soft. The green beans should have been expressed that they are served cold with a vinaigrette sauce. I'm sure it could have been good on another night but for this to be a highly favored restaurant it was a 4.5 out of 10.
Studio Steakhouse is a small, cozy neighborhood spot with a lot of potential. We were seated quickly, drinks were well made and prompt, and the hostess was very accommodating. Because the space is intimate, noise travels easily. A nearby larger group celebrating loudly made conversation difficult — not a complaint, just something to be aware of if you're looking for a quiet dinner. We ordered the Wagyu Tomahawk special (fairly priced for the cut at $199, though the price wasn't mentioned upfront). The presentation was impressive, but execution missed the mark. We ordered the steak medium and discussed doneness in advance; what arrived was rare to raw throughout, not even medium-rare. Given that it was already sliced and we had filled up on bread and sides (the corn was excellent), we chose to take it home to finish ourselves. No one checked back on doneness, which was surprising at this price point. The open kitchen is a nice concept, but public reprimands of staff by the chef — for things like not adjusting lights to his liking or not responding quickly enough when he rang his bell — can make guests feel uncomfortable. I would expect more from a chef with an open kitchen. That should be the selling point, not the source of concern. Those moments, along with unattended cooking and dropped stored produce, detracted from the experience. Studio feels like a place still finding its rhythm. With stronger teamwork, clearer communication, and more polished service, it has the potential to become a real neighborhood gem.
We really enjoyed ourselves. Not the normal steakhouse. It was quite casual. More of a neighborhood hang out than a formal steakhouse. But great meat dishes. The 7 hour short rib was amazing. We enjoyed all of the appetizers as well.
We were not happy with the value of the experience. Menu presented had nothing to do with what was available on hand. After seated we were advised that out of 4 steak options on menu only one was available The steaks were prepared at the wrong temperature as waitress did not keep notes on how each person wanted their steak cooked. Side dishes were wrong. Polenta was soupy and cold. Main course was not served at same time for all people We were not asked for refills After we finished with main course and waited for desert, the table was not cleaned. The price we paid was for upscale restaurant but the service was very poor.
We completely enjoyed Studio Steakhouse! The meats are visible in a butcher store-like display case and it gives the place a funky-cool vibe. The music on the playlist is good. The wine selection is impressive and the dishes are scrumptious! Server Leith is personable, knowledgeable and friendly! It's so nice to have such an accessible restaurant right there on that part of Magazine Street.
Phenomenal food, great steaks and service was outstanding, attentive but not intrusive... definitely recommend and will go back.
A $200 steak was served to us at barely warm temperature. This place will never last in New Orleans.
We had the chicken skewers and the strip steak. Both were good. The carrots with the skewers were cold. Maybe they were supposed to be. I didn't ask. The corkage fee is only $20! I thought the restaurant was associated with Doris Metropolitan but that the waiter said that is not the case.

A few kinks to work out from the bar and service but nothing that would stop me from coming back - and nothing any new restaurant doesn't experience. The food was absolutely astounding and that alone should make anyone come try it! The small but mighty wine list is also a great value!
Sever was good, food was cold and tasteless, coffee was cold, waited 20 mins for dessert, and finally canceled it. $200 check, and we left hungry
Food was not cooked right. Practically raw. Each course was messed up. They forgot the appetizer and brought it out after we were done dinner. The whole experience was awful.
Still working through some kinks in the kitchen but so excited to have a Doris uptown and the perfect spot when the weather nice. Will def be back.
We were so sad that the food wasn't great. Our server was amazing but we were disappointed.
