Gr8t food. They definitely don't treat everyone the same.
Food was fabulous! The atmosphere was quaint! Our waiter was very Knowledgeable, Cameron recommended The chicken shawarma plate It was the best I've ever had. And my husband had the falafel plate and we enjoyed both of them. We would recommend your place to anyone visiting New Orleans! The food the service and the atmosphere Was superb, Thank you

My partner’s family have been coming here for over 20 years. We came here recently with a large party. Never coming back. Unfortunately, we received less than stellar service (if any) from the male server with a pony tail. I ordered the vegetarian plate and when the food was brought out, it was the wrong item (the sautéed vegetables plate). He insisted that I ordered the sautéed vegetables even though I read directly from the menu. The person next to me ordered the sautéed vegetables. No apology what so ever.
Further, he never refilled my water and refilled everyone else’s in the table (as a person of color). Never once did this waiter approach our table and ask how we were doing. He spent the entire time chatting with another waiter staff at the counter. Needless to say, never coming back.

First time at Monas, dined at the outdoor patio. Really enjoyed everything we tried, standouts included the falafel and veggie grape leaves. Don't miss the attached grocery store for to-go options. BYOB if you want to drink.

Good people, nice place.
Absolutely delicious food. Lovely place with a cozy atmosphere. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Best halloumi I’ve ever had.

Fell a little short of my expectations. Would not recommend the fatoushe :(
Food was lacking a bit in both flavor and presentation. Prices are fair and staff was modestly welcoming.

I have not been to Monas for many years but wanted to post a review anyway because I have very fond memories of this place. When I was regularly going there, like 3 times a week, it was 7 months after Katrina. So quite a while ago. But the food was great and I always had great service. They gave generous portions and were always so nice. Very family friendly atmosphere and comfortable setting. Hope they are still as great as I remember. Their Lamb was excellent and I never had a dish that wasn't great. Miss you guys. Hope you are going strong.

We ordered takeout for a week night dinner. I got the Mona special with an order of Za'atar bread. Probably didn't need to as we received more than enough pita bread. While my humans and baba were good, everything else was ok. My grape leaves were really disappointing, the only flavor being the grape leaves. The falafel was standard, just not a fan of the kibby. Compared to a recent similar Mediterranean meal, this was not as good.

I ate at the now closed Magazine location of Mona's Cafe for years as it was the closest to where I live. I also ate at most of the several other locations they used to have (now the only one left and my favorite location is the one here at Banks Street that has their market attached to it). All of the locations were very consistent in quality and service. It isn't the best Middle Eastern food I've had but it is generally good. I really like their iced mint tea and I usually get the combo kabob platter. I also like the Mona's sampler which gives you a selection of their appetizers. I think they have the best kibby in New Orleans and I do enjoy munching on those. I've nearly always had good service at all the locations of Mona's I've eaten at but now with just this one location left I've noticed a distinct drop in the quality of service. A little known fact is that you can bring in your own wine and they don't have a corkage fee so that can be a nice way to enjoy a pretty inexpensive fun dinner.
