Nice little bar with couches, and a $1 pool table. There are plenty of hooks for coats and purses.

Didn't have food here, but the bartenders are sweet and attentive. Drink prices are average and delicious. Crowd is middle age, decent people.

This bar certainly used to be a four or five but has suffered some setbacks over the years. As a life long preppy fellow I appreciate the generally more dressed up nature of the crowd here but unfortunately too many poorly dressed, hipster type, and non-preppy folk have taken to crowding this bar over the last few years. It has seemed to be making a comeback lately and I do hope those that don't like preppy folk and don't understand that our "dressing up" is just what we wear everyday for work AND fun so they will probably be much happier at our great dive bars with their sloppy unprofessional looks. It is a great thing to be sloppy and go to a dive bar sometimes but it is also great to have a place you can go in your work clothes... well actually I go all preppy all over the place and I really like wearing a suit in Snake n' Jakes!!!

Overall Monkey Hill is a very comfortable bar and they do some good drinks with good service. The crowd has been very variable over the last few years so it is hard to predict what you will find until you get there.

Was used to host a small event. Good venue for less than 60 people. Food was catered in, don't think it was from MH so didn't include that in the rating.

the bartender was great, good selection of drinks, but the music was too loud to have a conversation (not to mention that my friend paid to have a certain song played and 20+ minutes went by without the song ever playing). also google maps is lying to you, they DO NOT have food anymore ‼️

This bar is such an amazing place to spend the evening. The drinks are amazing and bartenders are very professional. To reply to the baseless slander about anyone much less the bartenders stealing that is simply a lie!! I don’t know where that person has been going for cocktails, but if you are getting top shelf or anything for that mater in 2023 prices have tripled everywhere. So no one is stealing. Also the staff does not treat customers based on their looks! That is ridiculous. They wouldn’t have the large regular local business that they do. So do yourself a favor and go to Monkey Hill it is truly one of NOLA’S hidden Treasures! Cheers

Bartenders steal. We all have seen it. We went at Happy Hour paid a $20 for 2 drinks . Bartender gives me a $5 back. I said,”dear, I’m not drunk; $6 from $20 = $14. “WELL THATS WHAT THE MACHINE RUNG UP!”….over & over & over I saw this go on. No
