This is 10/10 my favorite restaurant in New Orleans! We visited around 5PM on a Sunday and the line wasn’t too long. We probably waited for about 15-20 minutes.

The brunch set is an absolute steal for $24!! 2 mimosas, biscuit, egg and étouffée. Their étouffée and jambalaya are both delicious. Very flavorful but not overall salty.

I like they don’t ask for a tip since you order at the counter. Highly recommend !

What can be said about Mothers that has not already been said. This place is not just a place for amazing food. It’s not just a place for amazing people. It’s not just historic.
It’s a damned living legend y’all!
I have been coming here for decades. And it is amazing every single time.
I absolutely love this place and cannot speak enough good about it.
This has been our staple for breakfast each morning that we are in town.
The people are great, the food is perfect, the atmosphere is one of a kind.
Get out and come down, you will be glad you did.
The biscuits are the BEST!!

This is a staple in New Orleans and I got to take a friend there for his first time. We both got the John G in his honor as his name is John G. But really that is one of my favorite sandwiches they have. The food is always good and plenty of it. I never get over a half sandwich there.
If you have never been there make sure to stop by, you wont he disappointed. Be careful when you go we went a little later in the evening on a Monday, so the line was not there. But I have been when the line is crazy out the door.

I loved the whole experience. They have a flow and a quick way of sharing that with you. It helps them feed the high volume that arrives in clusters and gets shuffled comfortably through the ordering line and to a table.

If you’re in New Orleans this is a recommended stop. It has a variety of food and you can tell it has good food from the amount of people that come and go. Theres also a wall of celebrity photos. I had the oyster salad and a piece of pecan pie. Everything was so delicious and we had a great server named Al.

No bacon. Food handlers not wearing gloves. The place was just alright.

Kind of gritty NOLA vibe. Handed a menu when you enter. You order at the counter. They hand you your drinks and a receipt to leave on the table so your server knows what to bring you. Lots of NOLA favorites like gumbo and jumbalya. Breakfast options all day. I got a cup of chicken & sausage gumbo which was heavenly. And a good size slice of pecan pie that was one of the better priced deserts among local restaurants. Left perfectly full. Not a special occasion place. But great to meet a friend for a meal that won't disappoint.

I ordered dinner for delivery. My order was wrong paid $74 For order that was clearly missed. They said they resolved it, but they did not. No accountability not even an offer to make it right. Poor quality food as well

I have great memories of Mother’s. My dear friend Joe Cahn was a greeter. Visiting NOLA for a conference and ate dinner at Mother’s. The seafood gumbo was delicious - plenty, plenty Shrimp!

Food is good… but customer service is terrible. They are polite to some patrons but treat others poorly. The food is good…. But there are better places in the French Quarter to spend 75 bucks on. In the future I’m going to skip this one.

The food is fine, but the service is horrendous. These are the rudest employees I’ve ever come across. And don’t need anything while you’re eating because you are on your own.

I ordered the Fried Gulf Shrimp Po'Boy and a cup of Jerry's Jambalaya. There was a 20-minute wait for the jambalaya, so I received a complimentary slice of Pecan Pie. Everything I ate was excellent! The jambalaya was my favorite of the three items with healthy chunks of protein and the perfect heat level. On my next visit, I want to try the Gumbo and Fried Chicken.

Al, my server, was friendly and readily available with a refill or to respond to any of my requests. If you want to leave a tip, you'll need to have cash on hand because you pay for your meal up front. I appreciated Al being proactive with offering me a complimentary dessert when there was a long wait time for my jambalaya. It helped stave off any potential frustration.

I love the ambiance of this place. Its history is covered on the walls and they do a great job taking care of frequent local customers and new tourists. I loved eating at Mother's Restaurant and will eat here again.

We always try to go here every time we are in New Orleans. They are usually busy so be prepared for a wait unless you get there right at opening.
