Authentic New Orleans Comfort with Real Flavor and Heart
I stopped by Yakamein House while running errands, and I’m so glad I did. From the moment you walk in, the aroma tells you this place is serious about flavor. The menu proudly showcases authentic New Orleans cuisine, and you can feel the heritage behind every dish. I ordered the shrimp yakamein, and it was pure comfort in a bowl—rich, savory broth layered with depth, perfectly cooked noodles, tender shrimp, boiled egg, and fresh green onions sprinkled on top. The balance of spice and seasoning was spot-on, that Creole warmth that makes you pause between bites just to appreciate it.
The staff was friendly and patient as I took in the options, the interior was spotless, and the overall vibe was laid-back but full of soul. You can tell they take pride in keeping the place clean, organized, and true to its roots.
If you’re craving something that feels homemade but restaurant-ready, this is the spot. Whether you’re from New Orleans or just passing through, Yakamein House deserves a visit. I’ll definitely be back to try the oxtail yakamein next time—because this place? It’s the kind of comfort food that stays with you long after you leave.

Wasn’t the best and took 20min even though no one was there. Had the Shrimp Yakamein because they ran out of beef. Didn’t taste like Yakamein at all. No flavor. Slightly spicy water and noodles. Wouldn’t come back for the Yakamein. Staff was nice just slow so plan accordingly

Very good
Review:
We’ve visited three different times, and unfortunately, each visit has been disappointing. Every time we came, they were missing ingredients — the first time, no ground beef; the second, both shrimp and beef; and the third, the same situation again.
It’s unfortunate because we came based on referrals and wanted to support the business, but it’s hard to enjoy a full menu when key items are consistently unavailable. All of our visits were before 3 PM, so it seems like there’s an ongoing issue with inventory or supply.
Unfortunately, after multiple tries, we won’t be returning.
Visiting New Orleans and this place was recommended. If you are handicapp challenged you will need help getting in this place because you have to step up approximately one foot to get in from the sidewalk. Once inside a youngman with dreadlocks was loading beverages in a refrigerator for about 10 minutes and never spoke to us. We were the ones in there. Then when started to order from the menu he said oh we don’t serve Po Boys anymore. They also didn’t have any chicken. We turned and walked out at that point. Basically what you see is what you get.

Not much flavor and way too expensive for the portion size
The customer service was very horrible. I ordered the tacos was very salty. I tried to ask him to remake it. They had an attitude and they took 15 minutes to remake one taco then want to charge $3.99 for a Coke that is not much a 20 ounce is a 16 ounce. The food was beyond horrible. I wish I can give them a negative 100 I would not spend a penny there

My granddaughter and I decided to eat here. We saw mixed reviews, but gladly we were happy, the beef was tender, chicken was on point and hot. We will be back. The only downside seating area was at best dreary. Needs some cosmetic.

We ordered several dishes. The sandwich, the salad and the noddles. The salad has fresh ingredients and a tender beef on top. The noodles were hot and steamy with a seasoned broth. The sandwich had soft bread and tender meat.
Overall, the sandwich was a definite 10 out if 10 because of the flavor, fresh ingredients and soft bread; the salad was an 8 out of 10 because of all the fresh ingredients; and the noodles were a 7 out of 10 because the broth was hot and seasoned.
All the items were good but the sandwich stood out and I was hard for me to stop eating it.

It was just ok. A tad bit salty and beef not super tender. Would have gotten chicken but they were out.

Wonderful and seasoned food served here! This restaurant serves a variety of yakamein-oxtail and efficient service. Nice music selection played while you wait. The food portions can be large. (1 serving can feed 2 people) Restrooms available for customers. You will have to watch your step entering this location; not handicap accessible.

This is not a noodle house.. it's actually Creole Sisters and this day they were closed for a week so I didn't get anything. But I have eaten here before and they are delicious.. So definitely try them out..
