I’ve been here so many times and enjoyed taco Tuesday and happy hour. Recently I visited and tipped cash. When looking at my billing statement an unexpected tip was added to the charge. This happened to my friends a couple weeks later. I’m not sure what is happening and did not got back to dispute the charge. I don’t intend on eating here again.

Got dinner to go (steak fajitas) and got terrible food poisoning immediately after eating. It lasted for days after. Will never return.

Great food. Chips were warm and thin with the right amount of salt. Salsa had just a hint of spice and great flavor. Dip trio was great. A large portion, perfect for 4 people. Queso was creamy. Guac was fresh but a little too much acid. Carne asada was tender and full of flavor. Will definitely return.

For all my vegan brothers and sisters...while the drinks and atmosphere are delectable, Mr Tequila is not set up to accommodate our kind. It's a shame too. I love the atmosphere and I love love love the Margaritas. I'd be here at least once a week if there were more vegan options. Unfortunately, I can only come for a pre or post meal cocktail.

Horrible customer service!!! My sister and I went to eat lunch here today and the service was terrible. We asked if there was any cilantro on the nachos and were told “no”. After taking a bite and tasting the cilantro, we asked if they would give us another order without the cilantro. The waitress was clearly agitated by this. She came back and accused us of eating the shrimp from the nachos and said that there would be an up charge to the replacement nachos since “we ate most of them”. This was a lie, one shrimp was gone!! The manager came to our table very unpleasant and starting talking at us without introducing himself. He was adamant that we ate the shrimp when we did not! I asked for his name and role and he reported his name as Leo and said he was the manager. Leo stated that there were 10 shrimp on the nachos and somehow they were gone, basically calling us liars. I wish he would have brought the plate back so we could all see what the problem was. He was rude for no reason at all. Between him and the waitress I honestly don’t know who had the worst customer service skills. We left the place without anything being resolved. Thanks Leo.

Mr. Tequila Authentic Mexican Cuisine is a cool spot located on the popular Freret Street corridor noted for their Mexican food and drinks. This New Orleans restaurant has become noted for their tequila offerings especially for their impressive tequila tower option which has gotten quite popular as it serves a lot of margarita in a nifty tube dispenser that sits on your table. The one negative I found about this spot is they do have really bright lights inside. Mr. Tequila is also noted for offering different specials each day of the week and offers some of the best Mexican food deals around. Mr. Tequila is one of New Orleans newest Mexican food restaurants as they just opened in 2020 and they have quickly become one of the most popular Mexican food establishments in the Freret Street neighborhood as they have great lunch specials and offer fun happy hours which has helped make them one of the most popular Mexican restaurants in the Greater New Orleans area.My video review of Mr. Tequila is here:https://youtu.be/vM39WWLxg0k

Food was bland at best. I had enchiladas that were nothing to write home about. The queso chorizo came out cold they then just microwaved it. Margarita were just mediocre. Expensive food and drinks for blan food. Would never come back with the options available

Garbage food. And they add gratuity to checks of even a party of 2 without telling you.

This is honestly a great, chill spot. Food is delicious, they have plenty of options, and the staff is always very friendly. We usually order take out, and it usually does take about 30/45 minutes, but it's so worth it. My personal favorite is the black and gold burrito:)
