We got there an hour before closing. Said kitchen was closed and we would have to do takeout. The catfish was dry, overcooked, shrimp in the loin mien was rubbery same with the shrimp in the rice dish. Ended up throwing our food away. Very disappointed. We were staying at judes travel park

Google says open until 7 so we went at 5:30, arrived to see the sign stating closed at 6 and we were happy we didn't wait until 6 like originally planned. We went for the shrimp po'boy that was highly recommended to us but when we tried to order it we were told the kitchen closes at 4!? She had food in a steam table and it was 2 sides and 1 main for $12. So we went with it. Since the kitchen closed at 4 we knew the food had been sitting. In the end it was warm and tasty but not what we wanted. Also this is a take away place not an eat in restaurant.

The food is incredible. Every time we are in Louisiana, this is one of our favorite stops. The owner is always pleasant.

I got the fried chicken wing plate with green beans and corn and only paid $12! Great big proportions and the chicken was so good! Will definitely be coming back soon!

It's in a unique area of town known for sights that aren't the normal tourist faire. The draw here is the portions and who can beat an $18.00 Ribeye with 2 generous sides.

Good food, reasonable prices. Quick service. Haven't had a bad meal from here. Any time my job takes me to the east I'm stopping by. Rough neighborhood though.

I do not understand the rave reviews here….at all!! The ladies were super nice, but the food was subpar! The shrimp were stale, the mashed potatoes tasted like instant and the red beans and rice were just okay! We got an extra plate of food and a large gumbo as well because of all the amazing reviews. In all, we tried the shrimp, corn, mashed potatoes, green beans, red beans & rice, baked catfish and gumbo. Three meals, a gumbo and two sodas….$55ish….and it was not good and definitely not worth that price. It is an old convenience store and you should expect instant mashed potatoes and canned corn & green beans.
