Visited Saturday 4/19/2025. Horrible service. The server brought 2 meals and forgot the child’s meal. She took the meal number from the table, 10 minutes later after flagging her down she said she forgot and went to check on it. Looked up 10 minutes later and the server was leaving the building with her purse and go cup - no child’s meal to be found. Went to find a manager and finally got the child’s meal after another 15 minutes and a half hearted “sorry”. Who does that?? The food was good but the service needs serious improvement. Do not tip at the counter when you order your meal. Tip after ALL of your meals arrive at the table.
Six people, had 1 meal followed by 3 more, 10 mins later, followed by last 2 5 after that. The last 2 were salads. One was a chicken ceasar that tasted like it was cooked in fish oil. Service serving absolutely sucked, people finished meals before some even received theirs. My opinion of this place hasn't changed since the last time I was here.
My friends and family love it. To choose the healthiest options ( the trout rather than catfish; grilled rather than fried is expensive). The chef/manager or whatever his title is at the Harahan Clearview Pkwy location; wears Black chef jacket, there on Sunday is a customer service power force. Manning the register, out on the floor, bussing tables and checking with customers, " What can we cook for you", "How was everything", ," What else can we do for you", professional, seems like he has been in a high end restaurant and knows just how to do it. He makes your visit special. The garlic butter sauce on the fries is genius. Unique, delicious. Love the onion rings! Our little server this past Sunday was great too. The chef is rubbing off on the staff!
Vegetarian options: I prefer more veggies, usually get grilled fish and ask for double veggies, hold the rice pilaf ( not this past time, lured in by $10.99 special for fried catfish plate). I often forget to ask for no salt, but I really need those options.
Dietary restrictions: Get the grilled trout (not catfish) platter and ask for no salt! Hold the rice, get double veggies, and/or need a side salad with that.

After years of eating at New Orleans Hamburger, I basically order the same thing, thin fried catfish and shrimp. Even going to different locations, I'm glad the recipe stays the same.

I ordered the shrimp remoulade, the shrimp were very tiny. It reminded me of the dry shrimp that use to come in a pack at gas station. The dressing was extremely tart and vinegary. I didn't eat but a few bites. My son loved the gumbo, he said it was very good. You get a lot of shrimp with the shrimp plate, they were crispy. The poboy was also a hit, bread was very tender and flaky. No complaints on the rest of the food. The waiter was courteous and attentive
