The only positive thing I can say about this place is the hostess who seated us. It was all downhill after that. We sat at out table for about 20 minutes before the rude waitress took our order. No bread was brought out...had to ask for it....I never did receive my drink. The food is subpar at best. The waitress had a horrible attitude...never once checked on the table to see if we needed anything. If I never ever go back to this dreadful place, it'll be too soon. It's all hype.

We visited because it was rated so high. Not our experience. Food was mediocre. Shrimp not cleaned in the po’ boys, hush puppies were very overdone and greasy. Sweet potato fries were good. Cheese sauce on the pasta on the bayou had three uncleaned shrimp and a few crawdads—tasted like it came from a jar. Yuck! Server was okay, but overcharged us on a special Tuesday price, never checked back with us, took one drink order but didn’t ask the rest of the table if they wanted cocktails.

For some strange reason, not known to me, this place is not rated #1 on this app. While dining at fleur de Lis (which was outstanding) for breakfast, we asked our waitress to give us an honest recommendation for a place for dinner. We had explored a couple of high rated options on this app and they did not end up properly representing the stars. Therefore, when our waitress recommended we go outside not only the French quarter, but outside the downtown area, we decided to give it a shot. This was EXACTLY what we were looking for. Not an overly seasoned, overly breaded, overpriced meal previously frozen and served up to the partiers without taste buds, but actual southern food cooking. We had Jon Boy as our waiter who was cool as a cucumber and we knew we made an excellent choice the moment he started talking. We dined on a Monday and the special was jambalaya. I am not a fan of spicy food and I was at ease when Jon boy said he wasn’t either. You know what? This food doesn’t need to be spicy, because it is cooked in a way that makes it delicious without covering it up with heat. The bread pudding for dessert was the best we have had. And I have had a lot of bread pudding. Do NOT wait to give this a try!

In town on a sister's food tour. We ordered chargrilled oysters, jazzy wings, and praline pound cake. The oysters were small and a little salty. The wings were OK but the cake was delicious.

This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. Our waiter, Courtney, had a terrible attitude from the moment we sat down. We had to ask five times just to get water, and my food and drinks never came out at all.
When we calmly told him the service wasn’t great, instead of listening, he chose to argue with us at the table — completely unprofessional behavior.
To make matters worse, I was told he’s the husband of the owner, which makes it even more disappointing. If this is how he represents her business, it reflects very poorly on the restaurant. The owner should not allow someone with such poor customer service to represent her establishment!

The food was good however, half of our table didn’t receive our orders. Things were consistently missing and/or were rung up incorrectly. We had to ask about 5x for water to be brought to the table. This was the worst service I’ve experienced in a VERY long time. I would not recommend nor will I be back — EVER. Also, the owners husband is VERY unprofessional. He started yelling at a member of our party because she asked for water again.

Really good. I love their oysters, fried chicken and gumbo. For the drink I recommend trying the Bow Wow, it has some kick to it.
