A great dive, friendly, regulars, friendly service. Nice quiet break from the other side of the river.

We took the pedestrian ferry from New Orleans to Algiers and walked 10 minutes to the bar. Ferry is modern, $2 fare, well staffed - it runs late as well. Algiers was an old neighborhood, but pretty clean, there’s a great path on top of the levee, we felt safe enough. The bar is “divey” but clean and well managed. We were very comfortable there. There is no food service - so we got pizza delivered. Staff was courteous and attentive. Nice stage, and a really good band called River Rock played ($5 cover – Elvis, Steely Dan, Petty, Springsteen, Eagles, Huey Lewis). It was worth the $5! Overall a great experience.

They only have snack chips no hot food. Bartender knows everything about this area. Took 1 hr to drink a coke.

I am editing this bc I think I was here previously on a one off. Tn I have been attentively checked on and gotten perfect service. I wish I had not left a bad review the first time. I am feeling happy to be here!
Took the ferry over to Algiers on our recent New Orleans trip- planned to just wander but found this place and decided to check it out- what a treat!! We love a good “dive bar” with character and history, and this one’s got it! The service was IMPECCABLE *chefs kiss*. Our day shift bartender (I’m sorry I forgot your name!) was a great historian and she recommended some other great establishments to check out, both in Algiers and back across the river too. Algiers itself is a beautiful, peaceful, clean place, and the folks who live there and can stop by the Old Point after work are lucky!!
Epic and perfect dive bar. $2 bud drafts, old wood interior, live music, friendly locals.

Great old dive bar!!! We visit Nola from Canada and always make sure we make it over to Old Point just for the bar.

Fabulous spot for those looking for a great local dive bar. Don't go if you aren't looking to be social and enjoy a laidback drink with some New Orleans residents. The spot is perfect and the view outside can't be beat.
