We went on 3/8 to enjoy some jazz and eat some good food, but only half became true. We were a party of 4, but this is only my take. Don't get me wrong the jazz was AMAZING!!! But the service, food, and overall experience was terrible. We arrived at 7:20 and were sat with Robert as our server. When I say this man needs to find a new profession, I mean it. He was rude not even just little rude I mean he literally acted like us being there was inconvenient and an irritant. We saw him a total of maybe 8 times in the 2ish hours we were there. We asked about vegetarian options and he seemed genuinely irritated and bothered that we were even asking. We asked a question about the potato cakes and he responded like we were just supposed to know what it was. The appetizer that we ended up ordering (tomato, mozzarella, and basil) was fine but the caprese salad I make at home is just as good. Bread was brought out but the butter was served rock solid and the bread tasted like they got a French baguette from Walmart, didn't heat it, cut it up, and put it in a basket. During this time drinks were empty at multiple points, and we saw Robert look at us, and walk away at least four times. As we were waiting we saw the other waiter/waitress running around being highly attentive to their tables. After an hour and a half our food finally came. I can speak for my food when I say, Popeyes red beans and rice is 100x better and half the price. The beans tasted like they were dumped from a can with a little extra spice and the rice was like microwaveable rice. The chicken was okay, but not high quality in the slightest. The chocolate mousse tasted store bought and low quality. When we complained the claim was it was busy that night, but there were no tables turning over and the restaurant wasn't full. With 20% automatic added gratuity, Robert had the audacity after the worst service ever to ask for an additional tip. After a 300 tab and a terrible night, the moral of this story is go to Popeyes, get chicken and red beans and rice. The jazz is the only redeeming factor in this situation.

Loved the Club - mostly for the music. But atmosphere and food were also good.

Website says to call for reservation, but whomever answered the phone couldn’t even hear the conversation, had a hard time answering a simple question about who was playing that night, and then abruptly says “I have to go, we’re really busy”.So I guess it’s as pretentious as the listing looks; yikes. Pass!

I'm always looking for great Jazz places to direct my friends who visit New Orleans. After Preservation Hall, this would be my next choice. Located in the French Quarter, this is a very nice Jazz cafe. A $10 cover charge and reservations are required. They have a full dinner menu and a full bar. The Jazz Band is a house band of excellent local musicians ... even some recent graduates of the NO School for the Arts Tables for two and accommodations for larger groups. Wait staff is attentive and friendly. Palm Court is a pleasant break from the seedier Bourbon Street establishments. If you're looking for a more upscale and family friendly experience, this is your place!

One of the best kept secrets in NOLA. Chef Bobby puts out an impressive menu that never disappoints! If you can catch Tim Laughlin and Duke Heidiger, you will not regret it! Always a great time every trip to New Orleans!

Good place to grab dinner and enjoy some music.Kid-friendliness: Didn't see a kids menu, but we took our 12 and 17 year old. So many of the music venues are 18 and up because they are really bars, so this was a good way to get the kids to a Jazz venue.

A great experience listening to live jazz while eating dinner. The atmosphere was relaxed and jazz musicians were talented. Got the Creole pasta which was delicious and filling. They are generous with their portions. Our friends got the steak. For a cover charge $10 and price of dinner, this was a great experience. The staff were nice and the jazz ensemble played some classic songs.

One of the highlights of our trip. Our family (all adults) enjoyed the music, atmosphere, and food. Food was delicious. The jazz was incredible. We had a great time! Even though my children are grown, i can say that Palm Court would be a great place to enjoy authentic jazz with younger children.

I love the Palm Court. It is an upscale supper club, really. This concept is actually quite unique in the FQ. Most places offer either food OR music, and if it's combined it's in the form of a bar with music that also offers food. PC is not a bar per se. There is one important thing you should know before you go to this delightful establishment. Most if not all the customers here have made reservations in advance. The PC opens at 7pm and most folks reserve their tables for 7 or 7:30. So, everyone is coming in at the same time. Whilst the menu is select (only around 8 mains to choose from), the kitchen seems to prepare everything from scratch and is overwhelmed with multiple orders all at the same time. People are not randomly wandering in off the street at various times, like most restaurants. All this to say... be ready to wait a while for your food. Quite a while! Get in the mindset that you are having a slow, leisurely, unhurried meal with a wonderful jazz band playing in a beautiful classic New Orleans setting, have a couple of beverages, kick back and relax. Don't come here if you're in a hurry. This is a place to savor and relish. It is worth the wait.We didn't understand why the food was taking so long. I complained to the server, a lady who told us she'd just started working there. Her initial response was WAY off... she actually said, "well do you want to eat, or do you want to leave?" My, my. She evidently reconsidered her defensive and arguably belligerent response and came back from the kitchen with an apology, an explanation of "the system " and an offer of 2 free drinks. We lowered our raised eyebrows and sipped our free drinks. That was the only fly in the chardonnay.Anyhow. I had the steak pie and mash. As a fellow Yorkshire-woman, I appreciated the owner Nina and her influence here on the menu. You never see steak pie on any menu in the States so I was tickled by this. It was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS, I am still drooling over the memory of it! My husband got the filet and although it was a tad overcooked it was still very tender and flavorful. The band was Kevin Louis et al. They were really great, we were so entertained.I hope the PC will be around for a long time to come. The FQ needs this place to stay!
