The wait staff was so nice and kept our drinks filled. The steaks were cooked perfectly! What more could you ask for?
Kid-friendliness: We brought our two year old - she loved it! They even placed a high chair for her in a low traffic area to keep her safe!
This place has been marked on my maps for years, and i finally made it.and It definitely did not disappoint .it should be on everyones list
Another local place serving up real-deal food for the people. It started with a “Skater Aid”, a local blonde brew bringing big flavor, and has an “adopt a skateboarder” on the side of the can. I used that to wash down a phenomenal Boudin eggroll. Perfect sausage and cheese combo inside a crunchy eggroll. Had to try the steak tartare to finish it off and the blend of filet, shallots, mustard, capers, and Worcestershire aioli with toast was amazing. Over the top flavor and great texture. One of the cool things about this place was the starter bread, it’s served with a lit candle on the plate, well the candle is made out of beef fat and as it melts you dip the bread in it.
I drove in from Houston today and was very hungry after all the traffic delays. The restaurant my friend picked out had a 2 hour wait. We came here instead, showing up a few minutes before closing. They sat us at the bar and served us. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. We had the the boudin egg rolls, red fish and Brussel sprouts. I can't thank the staff enough for making sure our dinner was perfect while they were closing down for the night. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Our waitress was amazing and the service was great. We ordered a medium filet that came out rare at best - cool, dark red center. When we asked that the steak be cooked a little bit longer it was overcooked to the point where they had to cook us an entire new steak (we never saw it). We had been there an hour and a half before the second steak got to us. We were comped 2 drinks, not the $40+ steak that we ultimately had to take to go.
Amazing food, fabulous drinks, and excellent service! The food is top notch but in an approachable and comfortable atmosphere. We came for brunch which was delicious. Favorites were the boudin egg rolls and the biscuits and gravy. Then we came back for Valentine's day and the food was mind-blowing. The tartare was one of the best I've had. Peggy's service was delightful from start to finish. Special thanks to the kitchen for making a substitute on the prix fixe meal since I cannot eat shrimp. Cannot say enough positive things about this restaurant.❤️?
Very good scratch made lunch. Great, spicy bloody mary. Get the egg rolls, yum bologna sandwich was "best ever."
The food is amazing! The atmosphere in this small place has a nice mix between going out for dinner and eating at a friend's place. It's cozy setting, amazing food and friendly staff make a great combination.Normally I'm not a big fan of an open kitchen because of the noise, but somehow they made it work here.Only thing is the price, even though I do think it's a fair price for the amount and quality of food you get, for me it was quite expensive. Maybe they could include some small sides with dishes for those prices. Anyway for around $100,- per person you will have a nice amazing dinner here.
Went on a whim while visiting the city with significant other and so glad we did. Food was exquisite! Thick cut Pork chop, BBQ shrimp, tallow bread, sweet and spicy brussel sprouts, and glazed squash with yogurt we all fantastic.Pork chop was tender and melt in your mouth and well seasoned. The squash was a excellent contrast between the inherent sweetness and the sourness of the yogurt. Brussel sprouts were soft sweet and savory. The shrimp head and shell on easily peeled and in a spiced broth with a hunk of bread. The bread with a tallow candle was also great tasting a visually appealing.Ambiance was intimate and a good vibe. All in all a great experience.
Our steaks were perfection. Our server was amazing. Sides were delicious (stuffe squash) and we loved the fun beef tallow melting "candle" to dip our bread in!

The food was really good and we especially loved the steak. The steak had a great sear and very flavorful....it didn't need anything extra even though you can get horseradish sauce or chimichuri. Our waitress did an outstanding job. She was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. I would most certainly go back.
OMG I can't wait to go back! Roasted beet salad was delish & the BBQ shrimp app was yum! Ribeye was perfection! Great cocktails and awesome staff!
The BEST steakhouse experience I’ve had in New Orleans, ever! Do not sleep on the chicken liver toast - it was amazing. I was also impressed by the heirloom tomato salad, mashed potatoes, & broccoli (it’s served cold and for a second you think it’ll be weird, but it is everything). The steak was perfectly (!!!!) seasoned/cooked, service was lovely (shoutout to Peggy), vibes were high (amazing lighting/intimate feel/even cute + quirky bathroom decor). Oh & the tahini chocolate chip cookie served in a small cast iron skillet was the best dessert I’ve had in years. You don’t just need to eat at Piece of Meat - you *must*.
Just wow. Friends brought my wife and I to Piece of Meat for my birthday and it far exceeded their description. The staff are on their game and the food, man oh man. I really don’t know where to begin but I’ll start with the Brussels Sprouts, sweet and savory, perfectly seared. Rendered beef fat butter with crusty bread, just divine. The Bovette steak, heavenly. I could go on and on. If you are in that area, make reservations and give them a go.
Server was wonderful and did a great job choosing for us on some items. Food was phenomenal. All four of us had a great time trying things from each other's plates. The bread with the tallow candle was delicious.
