Great food, drinks and wonderful service. It was fairly loud inside. That was the only negative thing.

Must try!! We had the most delicious dinner at Pigeon and Whale. We were sitting at the bar, which is my favorite. It was fun watching them shucking the oysters. We ordered the swordfish schnitzel and scallops. Both were amazing. Their cocktails were also lovely. Great service. We had a fun date night but it would be a great place to bring guests or get together with friends as well!

Okay so we had a reservation and we were sat at the bar. I'm a bar person fine and Dandy. When I asked about certain things on the menu it seems like it was hard for them to try to explain the items on the menu because the menu descriptions are very vague and only generally mention two items in the dish. I started out by ordering the Shuckers Choice which is a assortment of different specialty oysters and the the Shocker who came over said the oysters are left to right and the dissension of the menu. So I basically had no idea what I was eating. Other than that they were some of the smallest voices I've ever had some of which being the size of a quarter. We had the mango blue crab salad which was actually pretty good. I had a Cabernet which was Sour because they leave the corks in the bottles of the lines. Both bartenders were drinking behind the bar and not even trying to be Shady about it very openly drinking in public. In fact one of them told us as he was making his drink that was for him. The bartenders even did a cheers to each other furthermore one of the bartenders was pressing basil into a drink and picking it whereby he scratched his face scratched his neck and continued to pick basil without washing his hands. A few moments later I saw the other bartender do the exact same thing which I was curious if they had some sort of skin ailment. Also there was an obnoxious customer in the restaurant he was honestly over served and just obnoxiously laughing and yelling at the other people in this table knocking over drinks. I protested the next twice that someone tell him to quiet down and they said they couldn't do that. All in all it was a very strange experience from top to bottom and I feel like I would give this I don't know somewhere between a C+ and a d Plus on my scale but choose for yourself it's very very loud in there and for two people dining cost about $300 so I don't know but that's the truth. Furthermore we had the char- grilled mussels which are neither chard nor grilled. They are obviously placed in a broiler with some sort of cheese on top of them. They're not charged rolled over any sort of a fire. If you order them turn the shells over and there are no black marks on them so call them charbroiled oysters or salamander oysters but anything further than Char grilled oysters. It's just a blatant lie and for $18 you only get 10 of them

I’m always disappointed when a restaurant has great food, but doesn’t have great service to match and this was the case here. I enjoyed probably the best NY strip I’ve ever had; we ate at the bar due to the restaurant being full and the bartender who had to serve us was noticeably annoyed. Not sure if at us or in general, but it was not a warm experience.

Delicious seafood! We had the scallop risotto, grilled octopus ,ceviche, and mushrooms, all of which were great. The cocktails were creative and strong, and the decor was nautically fun.

Dropped in to P&W for dinner.

After debating what to get we decided on the ceviche, octopus, fried mussels and bread service + cocktails.

The cocktails were delicious!

Sounds strange but the bread service was the star of the show, their house butter was unreal.

The octopus was tender and tasty.

The fried mussels were good but almost a little too rich for us.

The ceviche itself was delicious, but was a complete hassle to eat as it wasn’t strained and just dripped all over us and the table.

All in all it was worth stopping in.

Fantastic oyster happy hour 4-6 every day, with a huge selection from all over North America. Eggplant doughnut is delicious, and it's so great to try new preparations of this veggie. Our server Tristan was so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, offering suggestions that were spot on. We will definitely have to come back to try some more dishes.

A fantastic experience any seafood lover should treat themselves too

P&W has an unbelievable menu with some truly unique and delicious options that will have you planning a return trip. The oysters take a pretty successful stab at the “best in the city” title which is saying something in New Orleans. The appetizers present a fresh take on some classics, and the cocktail menu is extensive. While I didn’t have any drinks, the friend I was with thoroughly enjoyed his.

My only wish is that the scallops were a little more numerous in the serving, but the heaping portion of pasta(?) they were served with ensured I didn’t leave hungry.

The service was among the best I’ve ever had - friendly, attentive, knowledgeable without being overly present.

The atmosphere was lovely, with the seating perfectly spaced to balance properly utilizing the space with comfort for the guests, and a nice ambiance. I don’t usually care for that kind of a thing because my primary focus is the food but this would certainly make a nice date spot.

5/5, 10/10 would spend $100+ per person again due to pigging out on appetizers (you can totally go here for less (~$50/person) if you’re not each getting oysters and two apps plus dinner)

We absolutely loved our experience. The atmosphere feels like your in a swanky cruise ship, and the sea-themed details are perfect. From the mermaid tile, the bird wallpaper and squid toilet paper dispenser in the bathroom, to the menu names and food vessels, this concept was so well thought out. The food was amazing! We loved everything! We got the chargrilled mussels, the swordfish schnitzel, and the parmesan redfish. Then we couldn't pass on the lemon cheesecake dessert, which might have been one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Looked JUST like a lemon, on a bed of graham crackers! Add this place to your list!

Dietary restrictions: They were so accommodating to our gluten allergy!

OMG! The best meal we have had since being in NOLA!! Service was amazing. Food presentation and taste was fantastic! Danny was so informative and just overall pleasant to be served by. All staff helped each other, and we never waited long for food, drinks, or questions. By far, one of the best experiences we have ever had!

I finally tried this wonderful restaurant and wish I had been long before. Definitely on the top of my list for Nola restaurants. Everything was cooked to perfection: the octopus, chargrilled mussels, squid ink shrimp pasta, oh and do NOT forget the bread service. The Aleppo honey butter might be the best thing I’ve ever had. The cocktail menu, presentation, and phenomenal flavor profile in each drink gets 5 stars. Some of the best cocktails in Nola.
