We had the most amazing dining experience we've had in awhile. Our server Antonio was knowledgeable about the dishes on the menu and attentive without hovering. We ordered bread for an appetizer along with the T-bone pork chops and Scallops with grits as the main course. Dessert was the Almond cake with honey ice cream. Everything came out with absolute perfection. Our drinks were never empty. We left full and blown away by the whole experience at Plates. Highly recommend!

Amazing! I can’t say enough! We went yesterday, Saturday evening, and met up with friends from out of town who had also never been to Plates. Luke, our awesome server, welcomed us and explained flawlessly the concept of the dining experience. Service over all was impeccable. The food tho…THE FOOD, my heavens it was so very good. Because you get “small portions”, which I feel were normal size for most healthy people, you are able to try a variety of taste experiences and none of them disappoint. (We had the Braised Beed Croquettes and Seared Scallops) Once you get to the Entree choice, my word it just will change your whole day around(if you’ve had a bad one) and put you on cloud-nine. I had the Pork T-bone which simply melted in my mouth with so many wonderful flavors. We honestly didn’t want the night to end and because the portions are correctly sized we still had the desire to have dessert, the Cane Syrup Crème Brûlée and Spanish Almond Cake, which was the perfect end with the sweetness of a good night. Or was it? No, we still could not bring ourselves to ask for the check so I deemed a coffee was worthy of my attention while my wife had another Fiebre de Flores from the drink list. The three hours we spent there had flown by and we called it a night but it will not be the last time. We hope to have many more experiences and great memories at Plates.

Absolutely the best experience I've had in New Orleans. The food and flavor profiles??. Everyone was very friendly the moment I came through the door.

Plates is absolutely wonderful! Great food, service & atmosphere. Three days in NOLA we dined at 2 higher end seafood restaurants. Both were disappointing. Plates was hands down better in all aspects. All of the food was fabulous including the homemade bread and ice cream prepared by the in house pastry chef!

Eye opener

I took my son and daughter there for their birthday. Everything we ordered was delicious. The waiter Darnell was super informative and very knowledgeable about the menu. Service was excellent. If you want a casual, classy place to go and relaxing atmosphere “Plates” is the place.

Let me just begin by saying if you're ever in the New Orleans are you MUST make a point to eat/drink here.

The atmosphere, the decor, the staff, the FOOD and drinks- OMG!!!!!!!!!

Their version of a Bloody Mary is by far the best I've ever come across. The unique flavors and mild kick definitely bring brunch to its pinnacle. My spouse enjoyed the bottomless mimosas and the multiple options of juice come out on a stylish, wooden tray - choice of garnishes included!

Now the main attraction - The Food.

This twist on flavor and cultural variety; Your tastebuds will thank you.

The scallops were so fresh and flavorful, and the accompanying grits were perfectly cooked. The presentation was stunning!

This garlic shrimp was a revelation! The shrimp were cooked to perfection, tender and juicy with a beautiful char. The garlic butter sauce was rich, flavorful, and clung to every bite. This dish was a symphony of flavors and textures. I can't wait to have it again!

The Pain Perdu with sherry anglaise (French Toast) the sweetness and flavor melts in your mouth making it the perfect brunch option.

I could go on and on..

I will definitely be back and CANNOT wait!

Situated in a nice brick building. Fusion tapas style. 1 was small for main but 2 is too much. Not exactly Spanish portion. Scallops lack flavour and too much rock salt for ny liking. Certain bites i was chewing on salt.
Sat at the bar. Server might have had a bad day. Did not smile throughout my time there.
Place was too bright and noisy. Feels like canteen.

Had to come back here after having a great meal during a convention last year. We were welcomed back as if we'd never left town. Everything was great, but we especially enjoyed the lamb and the fried chicken coq au vin. We're definitely coming back on our next visit to New Orleans.

Amazing experience! I had heard it was a wonderful restaurant, but wanted to check it out for myself. No lie….everything was top-notch. Our server Ash was incredible with recommendations and just simply a lovely person! She was very thoughtful as we kept running outside to watch the parade going by. We had the brie, apple salad, shrimp and crab croquettes, pork ragu and freshly baked bread. I should’ve taken pictures, but we wanted to eat at soon as it came to the table- it looked and tasted that good. We appreciated that dishes were served intermittently so we could really enjoy each one. The food melted in our mouths, and you can taste all the distinct flavors in each dish. We were pretty full and debating on dessert which we ended up ordering crème brûlée. In our days, we have had a lot of crème brûlée, and this was hands-down the absolute best ever! Thank you, pastry chef Kyle!
The entire wait staff was attentive and kept
checking in to make sure we were happy and if we needed anything further. Kudos to the chef - we just kept saying to each other this is ! Five service and food and we will be back! My husband can’t wait until okra is back in season. Thank you for an amazing night out with the best food I have had in New Orleans!

We were a group of 35 people and chose the family style sharing option. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere fun, but most of all the service was impeccable. From the greeting at the front door to the drinks, food and finally the dessert, which was heaven on earth, the experience was phenomenal! I would highly recommend this restaurant to parties large and small and would return again the next time that I am in New Orleans!

Vegetarian options: The family style sharing option comes with 4 courses; in the third course the chef prepared an additional vegetarian option in addition to what was being served.

Dietary restrictions: The restaurant had prepared dishes for those with certain dietary restrictions that could not eat some of the dishes in the various courses being served.

An Unforgettable Culinary Experience!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Plates in New Orleans with a group of 12, and I can confidently say it was a five-star experience from start to finish! We opted for the chef's tasting menu, and every single dish was a masterpiece. The food was not only delicious but also presented beautifully, showcasing the incredible talent of the kitchen team.

The portions were generous, ensuring that we left completely satisfied. Our waiters Amor and Zach and the bartender Paula were nothing short of amazing—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the menu. They made sure to accommodate our various allergies with grace and ease, which is not something you find everywhere.

What truly stood out was the detail-oriented and kind staff. They worked seamlessly together, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that made our celebration feel extra special. From the first bite to the last, every aspect of our meal was thoughtfully executed.

If you’re looking for a fantastic dining experience in New Orleans, this is a must-visit! I can't wait to return and indulge in more of their culinary delights. Highly recommend!
