Very quaint and clean restaurant. The service was excellent. Several items to choose on the menu. Food was delicious. Certainly recommend it if you have a taste for Indian food. Can’t wait to go again.

I am a foodie and I have had food in a lot of Michelin star restaurants including Semma in NY. This is by far, hands down the best indian food I have had so far.
Food was flavorful, Perfectly cooked, Very well balanced, Just amazing!!

I’ve never reviewed a restaurant before, but I feel like I need to give folks with peanut allergies a heads up. After indicating that I had a peanut allergy on my reservation ahead of time and telling the server when we were seated, we placed our order. It was only after the order was placed that the server returned to ask me if it would be a problem that the kitchen fried peanuts in the same fryer they use for all fried items on the menu. Once I indicated that this would absolutely be a problem, the server pointed out all the fried items on the menu- it was at least half of the food available, and most, if not all, of the *big ticket* items. It was extremely disappointing. I’ve never been to a restaurant that would put such a common allergen in a vessel that cooks a large portion of the food, especially when it’s avoidable. It felt like no consideration was given to customers with an extremely common food allergy. What little I was able to try was delicious, but not worth being excluded from a huge chunk of the dining experience. Maybe this isn’t a space for people with peanut allergies, but a heads up would have been helpful!
**edited to add that the energy of the response below is precisely why I left my first ever review of a restaurant. Had I been met with kindness I would have chalked it up to bad luck. Humility, accountability and hospitality are distinctly lacking here (check out their responses to any feedback)**
Amazing food and the owners are very friendly/helpful.

MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN ALL OF NEW ORLEANS! Yes I know it’s on the westbank, it’s still my favorite. I will say it may not be for everyone. But if you love bold spices and layered flavors, give this place a try!!

A gem. Worth the trip from wherever in the city you are - exquisite, unique Indian food, clearly prepared with reverence and love for the culinary culture and traditions of the subcontinent.

Food was mid. Cabbage for $16. Had a few beef chunks in sauce actually 3 pieces and one was all fat. $26. Beef low quality. Rice not included. This mediocrity in food is so sad. That’s why all these places are not going to exist in a few years. Sticking w mantra in Metairie.

Really amazing dinner spot! Really recommend doing the “Feed me” and letting the chefs curate a meal for you and it is BYOB. Great, innovative Indian food!

Restaurantji Recommends
If this place was across the river or any other city this would be immediately better than 90% of restaurants. Would've never known about it had chatgpt not recommended it! Coming from Houston for work, I would literally come multiple days in a row to try all the other dishes. Refreshing take compared to the heavier cuisine of New Orleans, def worth a stop.

Soon as you step in you’ll notice you’ve stepped into a part of New Orleans Algiers we’ve never had. Why take a 14-17 hour flight to India? For an adventure I guess, but I have it right here and it’s only a 5 minute walk away. When you stand a few feet apart away from the door, you can hear them going to work on that fresh cuisine. Chef utensils breakdancing to the music, while endless sizzling acts as a choir. The greetings at the door that give off nothing but “you are welcomed here”. Sometimes you’ll even be greeted by their mini chef, he’s adorable I think I’ll call him Bebe Plume.😆😆😆 All in all, their food spices will punch you in the cheek, it is on my street so do not beef, so Plume Algiers is our antique.

The food is so full of flavor and sublimely satisfying. I’m visiting from the SF Bay Area where good restaurant food is prevalent. Plume would be a big hit there! Do not let its location in Algiers deter you from coming. It’s worth it! As they say, “Cross the damn bridge.”
