Just discovered Port Orleans Brewing
On Tchoupitolas and was pleasantly surprised. Only street parking here, but we were able to get a spot one block away. Walking in they have this great seating area on the front porch that opens to the interior which has a full bar and plenty of seating options including a comfy lounge area with a couch.
We ordered at the bar which was a breeze and within 10 minutes someone delivered our food to our table. On our visit we had their Carnitas Nachos and the Hawaiian Chicken Quesadillas. The Nachos were adequate, but the Quesadilla was truly spectacular! Seriously, who knew chipotle chicken, pineapple and jack cheese would taste so good in a quesadilla.
That atmosphere here was chill and I loved the front porch outdoor seating at night as it was all lite up. I highly recommend this place for date nights and even group meetups.
The space is fun, food is delicious and the bartenders are excellent and helpful when making recommendations! Can't wait to come back!
Had a great time at Port Orleans yesterday. We had some great recommendations from the bartender who wanted to make sure we enjoyed our beers, enjoyed some yard games, and will definitely return ! Thank you.
Great beer, excellent food. Staff was terrific.
First brewery I've ever been to, and it was a great experience. The guys at the bar were super helpful, prices weren't bad for the food or drinks either. Great atmosphere, not too loud. Must try the DopeWhip - Soft-serve Pineapple Beer, it doesn't even taste like beer.
Delicious beer and food. Great outdoor space for kids to run (they even had a bouncy castle!) Pin ball machines and lots of good seating. We have gone there twice during a week long visit. Love it!
Never a bad visit here. Very good beer selection. Comfortable atmosphere, clean facilities. Good kitchen. If you’re looking for a good bite and a good brew you need to come here.
The beers and cider we had were great, the service was a little lacking but we were deep in conversation so overlooked it at the time and enjoyed ourselves. We ordered several menu items and they came out in a reasonable amount of time but weren’t exceptional. The cheese on the nachos was good but nothing to write home about. I liked the concept of a guac flight but the topping options were kinda meh. We tried maybe 8 different drinks among our group and everyone agreed the beers were tasty and worth returning for but we’d eat elsewhere beforehand next time.
Read some reviews about staff being rude to people of color but nice to white people. Quit making it racial. I’m white and they still weren’t super friendly. The girl that waited on us at the counter never smiled and didn’t care if we were there. She wasn’t overly rude either. Just didn’t care. Not to mention both her and another guy were pouring and drinking their own beer behind the counter. Maybe that’s why they aren’t friendly. We are interrupting their drinking time lol Also, we felt like we were at a playground or preschool. There were 6 toddlers like 2-3 years old running around dragging loud chairs climbing up to bang on the games and it was just super load and couldn’t have a conversation at all. We couldn’t get any flights because they couldn’t wash dishes due to a water break earlier that had been fixed but water wasn’t safe to use. If you wanted to drink water it was $6!!! for a water bottle. You think they would have discounted it since there were no other options. I actually think they went up on the prices because of that! That’s the stupidest price I’ve ever seen on water in a bar or Restaraunt. We were really excited to try this place and made it our first stop to eat and drink. We didn’t like all of their choices of beer so we had one and walked next door to the taco shop instead of eating at the brewery since they couldn’t wash dishes. Then we went on to other brewery where we were greeted with a smile and was able to order a flight and enjoyed the rest of our night and will go back to Urban South!
A Perfect Venue for a Crawfish Boil Wedding Brunch
If you’re looking for a laid-back, fun, and unforgettable spot to host a unique celebration, this venue is it. We recently had a Crawfish Boil Wedding Brunch here, and it was nothing short of perfect.
From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming—ideal for a post-wedding gathering. The crawfish was seasoned just right, and the jambalaya hit all the right notes. We also enjoyed a full spread of fixings that kept everyone satisfied. For those wanting something different, tacos and a variety of appetizers were also available, offering something for every palate.
The drink options were another highlight. There was a wide selection of craft beers to sample, along with some truly interesting THC- and CBD-infused beverages for guests looking to try something new.
What really sets this place apart is the vibe—super chill with plenty of space to hang out, unwind, and even play a few rounds on the arcade games. It’s rare to find a venue that feels both festive and intimate, but this one strikes the perfect balance.
Highly recommend for anyone wanting to celebrate in a fun, flavorful, and memorable way.

Wonderful place to go hang out and have small or large events. One of the coolest places in New Orleans!
Another excellent brewery off of Tchoup, I visited on a Monday afternoon while they were dead. I basically had the place to myself but decided to enjoy their outdoor area as it was surprisingly nice out for June. There is lots of seating, covered and uncovered, plus fire pits and games. The inside looked comfortable with several couches and booths, plus arcade games to take your quarters (tokens). They brew a large variety of beers so everyone should be able to find something they like. They had a fair amount of fruited beers, seltzers and the like, so I tried a few in keeping with the season. The 3 day weekend was surprisingly good. Most sours are either super sour and oddly sweet, but this was balanced really well. The strawberry Jax was good, reminded me of Abitas strawberry which I was hop for. I ended with a river hop which was another excellent beer, just not fruit flavored. Next time I'll have to get a Lyft or ride a bike as I could easily sit here and go through all their beers. Luckily for me they do half pours so I could enjoy several without worrying about the drive home this visit.
Great spot for brews & socializing. Friendly staff. Quinton in the kitchen went above & beyond to make our visit exceptional ! Excellent tacos !! Thank you 😊
Second visit. Still very good brews. Lavender and coffee light stout is outstanding! But the star of the night was Quentin in the kitchen. He managed to fix us four unbelievable tacos after the kitchen was‘officially’ closed. No problem no worries. Quentin had our food on the table and we were able to finish before the place closed!! We are so grateful and thankful for his hospitality.
Thanks. Merci. Bien venue truly means something in NOLA!!
The two people working right now (male and female) went out of their ways to be rude to 3/4 people in our group (everyone except our white female friend). Trying to very rudely hurry us to order when there was NO ONE in line behind us. Rolling their eyes when we asked about something on the menu saying “it’s on the menu” . ALSO we ordered a quesadilla with our drinks. 5 minutes later, The male worker, unsolicited, comes to our table, YELLED at us to “please NO MORE FOOD ORDERS” . What? We weren’t even trying to order more food. Plus, You work here, you took the order. If your kitchen was closed and you took the food order that’s your fault bro. terrible vibes. By the way if you two are reading this - all 4 of us girlies are successful doctors. And your behavior was very off putting and unprofessional. We will not be coming back
