My subpar $15 espresso martini was served in a plastic cup. Need I say more?
What a disaster. This restaurant looked like a great option for dinner during a recent trip to New Orleans. Looked pleasing with upscale interior and furnishings, variety of menu items, good cocktail selection, and within walking distance to our accommodations. Took awhile once seated for our waiter to come. Reviewed the cocktail menu and ordered drinks. I was told the feature cocktail I ordered couldn’t be made since they were missing ingredients. Disappointing. Only found this out after placing the order and the other person dining with me was brought their drink. As their drink became watered down waiting for me to reorder I didn’t find anything else that struck my fancy (a lot of gin based drinks and Im not a fan of gin) and asked if a the “Pink Drink” could be made but with vodka rather than gin and was told it could. Waited awhile for my new cocktail to arrive and when it did it was yellow (not pink as the name implies) and had gin not vodka. Had to wait again for the waiter to return and questioned what exactly I was drinking. He wasnt sure. Took that cocktail away. I ordered a glass of wine. (By this time I could have used the while bottle?). In to ordering…since it was later in the evening we both decided on the club croissant. Ordered those only to be told they are out of croissants! You’ve got to be kidding me. When asked what type of bread they did have we were told regular white or wheat. Pass. We looked at the menu again trying to find something else and debating if we should just finish our drinks and leave it and be done with it. Waiter came back and we asked if it would be possible to have the club on po boy bread abd was told yes. Finally! Ordered 2 more glasses of wine. Waiter brought me a wine and the other person a cocktail. I just dont get it. The sandwiches were very good on po boys but what an ordeal. Service was slow, items and ingredients weren’t available, and prices were high.

Awful. Easily the worst Avocado toast I've ever had. I asked for my eggs over medium they are clearly runny. Service is just bad. Had to ask for everything at least twice.
Waited SO long for everything. Half our party was done eating before the other half got their food. Do not waste your money here.

I recently had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The wait was ridiculously long, even though the place wasn’t packed. When we finally got our drinks, they were poorly made and lacked flavor. To make matters worse, the rice in my dish was undercooked and hard. Despite repeatedly asking for more water, the staff never bothered to bring any. Overall, the service was subpar, and the food didn’t make up for it. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Very slow and bad service, has no character
Brunch was extremely overpriced and pretty much motel Continental breakfast. It was also supposed to be a Taylor Swift themed brunch and they didn't play any until we left. It was borderline a scam, honestly.

We stayed in the NOPSY hotel (fantastic experience) and decided to try the Public Service restaurant on site. We arrived at 5:00 (had a reservation) and the lights were off and there were no staff except the bartender. After about 15 minutes, the bartender came out and showed us to a table...then they turned on the overhead lights. The bartender explained that it was just him and apologized profusely because he was trying to bartend and be a server, all at once. They had apparently launched a new menu the day before and he was not sure what they could make, and what they couldn't....I ordered a drink advertised on the menu and he wasn't sure if they could make it or not? He would check.... After about 30 minutes, our appetizers arrived. Spinach and artichoke dip was cold in the middle and served with a few pieces of toasted baguette instead of the tortilla chips listed on the menu. We had a few other appetizers including sea food cornbread, which was undercooked. After an eternity, our entrees arrived. The most palatable was the Seafood Pasta, which was hot and very good! My shrimp PO'boy sandwich was a roll with about 6 mini shrimp on it, 1 piece of lettuce and 2 tiny pieces of tomato (see photo). My fries were good. My husband absolutely hated his red fish (catch of the day) and his smashed potatoe side was cold. At the end of the meal, I asked (again) about my drink...I requested a margarita instead of the elusive pink drink that was apparently never going to appear. I received a "margarita" in a martini glass (see photo) with our check! It was $180....for an absolutely horrible experience! We never spend this much on a meal, but we splurged because we wanted our son to have this special experience. I absolutely do not blame the server. He was obviously NOT a trained server and was trying his best to fill in when no one else was there... We saw a few other employees walking past us but no one attempted to help him, even though he was obviously in distress. It was such a stark contrast to our experience in the NOPSY hotel, which was absolutely amazing!

The worst service and slowest food service. The Server sat us; we had been there for over an hour and were just now getting the food. He never checked in if we needed more drinks or refilled the water during this time. Do not recommend it!

I was so excited to try this place because it's looks really nice inside. The booths are cozy and i love the lighting and all the details on the walls. Atmosphere was AMAZING. HOWEVER, the lobby was playing loud music and the restaurant also had music on. It took a LONG time to get drinks. I'm talking 15-20 mins though the drinks were great. The food was OK at best. They need new menus as they were out of several things

Service was slow. Food was bland and some of it obviously microwaved.
I can do grilled salmon, dirty rice and zucchini better at home than what I paid $32 for. And they were out of oysters and the Vieux Carre. First, you're in New Orleans so you have to have that. Second, how can the bar be "out of" a cocktail? Did you sell all the whiskey? Do you not have bitters? Again, I can do it at home but you can't for $16? Come on now... Go to The Baronness instead

Avocado toast was a thin slice of toast with thin spread of mashed avocado. It was not worthy. The eggs sardou lacked the artichoke bottom and the poached egg was hard. Awful! The server did comp those items when we complained but this is not the kind a food I expect from an upscale restaurant. Oh, they couldn't find our confirmed reservation on Open Table
What a suprize to us, venue in a back street
But man did we enjoy
Great meals and we have never eaten any of them before ?

Went to brunch here and was sat immediately. Place is called, “Public Service” which I now see why because the public has to be at their own service. After waiting 20min for a server or anyone to appear, I went to the bar area to order drinks for my girlfriend and I. After getting the drinks back to the table, we approached the hostess station to see if we were able to get service. The hostess told us that our server was busy but she could take our order, which she did. I went back to the bar to get a couple more drinks. After about 25min, an employee of some sort approached our table and asked what we had ordered. We told her what we ordered then roughly 15min later, the food appeared. I ordered the bananas foster pancakes and it was very underwhelming. Pancakes were dense and the bananas in the teaspoon sized dash of foster on top were hard. I could only eat 2 bites. Girlfriend had an eggs Benedict and that seemed to come out OK, which seemed to be a miracle by this point. I took note of the other few tables around as those patrons were also frustrated with the lack of service they were being provided. The ONLY thing that held my patience together were the bartenders because they were hustling to make drinks for me and all the other patrons coming from their tables as well. Also, the live 3-man jazz band that was there for entertainment. This will be my first and last time here as I am visiting from out of town.

Public service is just meh”.
Public service is located inside of the NOPSI hotel on Baronne.
The food has never been that great so there’s that. I do love my sweet bartenders who always know what to make as soon as I walk in the door. I would go here for a nice drink, food, no in deed. Allegedly, there is a new chef in the kitchen, still doesn’t help the fact that the food isn’t great. I believe this place needs a big refresh.

Food was good but overpriced for what it was. Had both lunch and breakfast there and nothing really blew us away but the Cajun breakfast potatoes were probably the best potatoes any of us had ever had. Super crunchy, fluffy on the inside and seasoned well. Definitely a must try! Aside from that though everything else was average at best. The omelette was honestly probably below average. Just scrambled eggs with some stuff mixed in and folded in half. The andouille tastes like cheap store bought smoked sausage. Service was below average as well. Waited quite a while for drink refills and our waitress frequently forgot about us (same person both times)
