I became aware of Ray's Uptown by way of social media. The video displays food that looks perfectly cooked. When I walked in a lady was complaining about her order. The fried food was dark & loaded with grease. The waitress took the food & tossed it so Ray could fry more! I figured I'd go ahead with placing my order since fresh seafood was being prepared. While I was waiting for my food I purchased two good cigars. Finally, my order was ready & what do you know my food came out looking old & greasy as well. I haven't been back to Ray's Uptown since.
Owner still establishing his footprint at new location.
Food way very good hadRAYS,platter
We'll never know, because it's never open.
Very good service, super friendly. The food was very good.
Food was okay, nothing outstanding about it. To me the place is a little racist. We was at the table and three other couples that arrived after us was waited on first, my date who is African American was ready to walk out, when the waitress finally appeared to take our order. When ask why the others was waited on before us she looked over our heads, and ask if we was going to order. The food was okay, nothing to talk about like every where in New Orleans was over priced. Never going back there again.
Very Lively and super friendly. Dancing and excellent gumbo. A great New Orleans neighborhood experiencr.
We went on March 13 and waited over an hour for the food that was NOT at all what we expected. The waiter can to the table several times asking if we wanted to get something else because they couldn't
Definitely a good vibe, with good food, and great hospitality 🙌🏾
The atmosphere was fantastic! The service was impeccable! Ray was very friendly he was taking pictures asking if everything was ok. The food was absolutely delicious. The best fried fish in New Orleans. The Chef Ray’s Famous Soul platter has enough food to feed three people. We’re definitely coming back!

Food is great and the vibe is there.
Great authentic Nola food. Red beans and rice the best you’ll find in the city. I moved out of New Orleans at fourteen and it was so nice being back and eating New Orleans cuisine. My son had the fried shrimp po boy and cleaned his plate. Service was friendly and excellent. Think I’ll be back for dinner to try the signature gumbo!
