Nice setting. Wonderful New Year's Eve entertainment. Limited menu. Food was okay, but no better. Champaign was not properly chilled.
Food and service were great. The only hiccup we encountered was it took almost an hour for our entrées to arrive. We were a little nervous about how the filets were going to be cooked with such a long wait time, but they were perfect. We also split the truffle Mac and cheese which was amazing.
We dined on Christmas Day and we had the absolute best experience we have had at a restaurant in years!!!! The service was over the top! The staff was outstanding! The food was also very good. The fish and filets were cooked to perfection. Also they validate for parking at the hotel which makes it very easy, especially in the French Quarter these days! Please go and enjoy the ambiance.
Such a beautiful and wonderful experience at The Rib Room. Service was extraordinary. Food was amazing. Ambiance was great. Christmas Eve dinner there was just what we were looking for. No rushing us at all. We were there about two hours. We will be back. Thank you for making the night so special for us,
We were disappointed. My family had been there many times over the years -- but not since December 2023. Maybe it was an off night, but wow, the food took forever -- I mean at least 45-55 minutes before we got more than bread. It went that way the rest of the night -- and they were not busy. Lots of empty tables. It was painful. The waitress never apologized per se, but was clearly embarrassed. And when food came, it was always wrongly set down to the point of comedy in term of who ordered what. The food was good but not great and the reveillion dessert was one choice and not even OK. A spoon of melty vanilla ice cream and some dry banana chocolate cake. We will not be going back. We are scarred forever. Not worth the price at all. The only highlight (really) was that parking is still free with validation so we walked around and visited all the fun lobbies.
Our server Queen was exceptional. She went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. The holiday cocktails from the Blitzen Bar were festive and taste great.
I have been dining here since childhood. The Rib Room was always superior to most hotel restaurants and is still a favorite for many locals. It's a beautiful space and is not trying to be bright & chic – just elegant and comfortable with the bonus of a good bar. The rocket salad is perfect. The prime rib and its crust are delicious but the cut is a little thinner than it used to be, with a corn starch(?) thickened gravy rather than the natural au juice. The sauces/condiments have slipped. The aioli needs more garlic, the default horse radish used to be fresh grated or very strong but now a mix with sour cream/mayo(?) – but they will bring something a little stronger on request. Unfortunately the wine has become a profit(eering) center. Makes you feel like they expect this will be your one and only visit. The locals who dine here are hardly on a budget, but no one likes to be gouged. I imagine the changes come from accounting at Omni and not the local manager or chef. All that aside, I still love the place and will be back, just not as often.
We went for a pre-Christmas dinner with family and it was so fun! Service was exceptional and food was perfect temperature, generous portions and super delicious. We are all local but love to play tourist sometimes and the Rib Room never disappoints!
I am local and in new orleans for 8 years, been to many great restaurants, local, forbes star, michelin star restaurant even steak house always with my friends and got accomodated with my vegetarian diet since i am vegetarian and i understand i don’t have too many choices but expect 1 entree as vegetarian. Since as a casual/fine dinning restaurant that is a standard which every restaurant must have or should offer. I have been in hospitality industry for too long worked with some high end restaurants and hotels. Went on friday 12th around 9:15 as a walkin it was my friends birthday and he was hungry and he does eat steak got greated by Hostess and they even sang happy birthday for my friend and that was very impressive and i thought we are having a very good start. Got sat and greeted by a lady waiter and i asked her about the menu revillion if they have any vegetarian choice she said no and did not have enough knowledge about menu as she was reading the menu infront of us. I asked her if i can order a la carte vegetarian any appetizer+ soup/salad+ maincourse she was lost and tells me which i have never heard in my life waitress said to me” IF YOU ARE VEGETARIAN I DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU TO COME TO RIB ROOM” me and my friend was shocked that she just said that. I ignored and we ordered two cocktails my friend ordered turtle soup and i ordered fried green tomato as a veg appetizer it came out on time but served with pork belly when it arrived the waitress said “ i’m sorry i forgot to tell you that it comes with meat” sent back came out later after my friend finished his turtle soup and came out plain no sauce nothing, worst fried green tomato ever had as i am from here and i had it in many place. She din’t even bother to check with kitchen if they can make any sauted veggies or any entree while i can see they have side pasta, veg and cream spinach and for me money is never a issue i can even pay $50 if any restaurant can make any maincourse for me. My friend ordered NY STRIP and i ordered broccolini and side truffle mac and cheese. Food was amazing i liked the sides my friend enjoyed the steak but it does not come with any sides. . At 10:15 i asked for dessert menu she said “we do not have much to offer on dessert we only have cheese cake and kitchen is close anyways” while i can see other tables are getting all fancy dessert and i have seen dessert menu online too before i came. Our experience was horrible and my friend was upset too he felt bad for me that i couldn’t eat anything i always order 4 round of drinks with my app, salad/soup, mains and dessert but decided not to order anything from here anymore as it clearly shows waitress don’t care about her job neither the sales of the restaurant. I meet lot of people specially foodies and i would never recommend anyone to come to this restaurant.
Not much to say. Old and poor decor. Servers untrained.. Food simply average. Stay away until someone fixes all this.

Everything was great Wish they offered more beer by the bottle and wine by the glass. They only offered two red wines by the glass. Unacceptable. They had a nice wine list by the bottle
We had the best waiter! He truly make the experience that much better! Food and drinks were fantastic!!
We had a wonderful experience at the Rib Room Thanksgiving Day. One of our party was in a wheelchair and the entire team went out of their way to be kind and attentive to her needs. The food was lovely- our party had fried turkey and filets and especially enjoyed the fried green tomato appetizer. The live music was just right and we loved being able to watch the people passing on Royal Street too.
Our server Baris was great! Beefeater martini with blue cheese olives, perfect. Caesar salad, ribeye & au gratin potatoes all excellent.
Disappointed. If was a great place years ago. Not the same. Service is good, food only fair, ambiance not good. Dark and aged. Should be an upscale place. Such a beautiful old hotel that has gone way down. Sad...
