The food was disappointing overall. The presentation felt rushed, as if everything had simply been placed on the plate without much care. The French toast was undercooked and gooey in the center, and the Banana Foster French toast was overwhelmed with sauce, making it soggy.

Judit was our server and she was very friendly. I had a great experience during breakfast. She was very kind, always attentive, and had a positive attitude. Her service made the breakfast very enjoyable. I would definitely come back and highly recommend her.

Got an omelette and grits. My omelette was a little burnt. But the grits and the butter they use for their biscuits were great. Great service

I don't usually have biscuits & gravy and a Morning Margarita for brunch, but when I do, this is the place! Great food, service, and fair prices.

My second morning in New Orleans was made special by the staff and food at the Ruby Slipper location on Decatur.

Everyone was friendly, and my server, Norman, was very helpful and informative about Ruby Slipper and food businesses of New Orleans. He also introduced me to Chef Pete, a sous chef at Sun Chong, where I had another lovely experience.

Per Norman's recommendation, I got the Bananas Foster French toast, which is made on fresh French bread every morning, and 2 Bennies under the Peacemaker option: the Chicken St. Charles and the Eggs Cochon.

Everything was decadent and rich, and the savory option of the two was VERY filling (I still feel bad not quite cleaning my plate lol). I ended up taking most of the French toast home to my hotel for dessert, but best believe, I devoured it all eventually. Nothing like any French toast I've ever had before, and probably will again.

I really enjoyed the personal, almost one on one experience I got to have with my server (until it got busier, of course), which allowed me to really appreciate and understand New Orleans more outside of my limited lense: A beautiful city still recovering from tragedy, that is constantly brought back together again and again. And food is just one of the many glues holding her together. I'm very grateful to have been part of it.

Thanks for everything, guys!

For breakfast, we decided to check out Ruby Slipper Cafe after seeing so many great reviews. When we arrived, there was a huge line — and that’s when we realized we had made a mistake by not reserving ahead of time. We simply didn’t expect it to be that busy.

Thankfully, the host was very polite and welcoming, and we were seated fairly quickly at the bar, which actually turned out to be a great, atmospheric spot with a lively brunch vibe.

Our server was incredibly positive and cheerful, and she helped us choose our dishes. My wife ordered green tea, which came in a large mug, and I had a coffee. On her recommendation, we tried the Sweet Heat Chicken and French Toast Bites — and they were absolutely delicious. I actually ordered them after seeing how amazing they looked at a neighboring table.

Everything came out quickly, and the food was fantastic. We don’t drink alcohol, but I noticed they offer a wide variety of creative local cocktails that looked very popular.

Overall, it’s a very cool place with a great vibe. Definitely recommend it for breakfast in New Orleans.

My friends’ shrimp and grits were frozen ☹️ she’s a Shrimp connoisseur, so she knows.
But the trifecta ( 3 different Benedict’s) was delicious.
By mindful if you’re planning to sit outside in the warehouse district.

This place is fantastic! Our server Misty was amazing and gave us perfect suggestions. Definitely try the white chocolate bread pudding and the biscuit trifecta. This was my second trip to New Orleans as an adult and my best meal yet.

Food selection is great. The blueberry mimosa was tasty and the Bacon Bloodymary was nice and tangy. Good stop for breakfast.
