So this place came up for Eater New Orleans. I trust them so I went for Sunday brunch. It took someone at least 10 minutes to come and take even a drink order. Got that & ordered all my food at the same time. It was alt least 40 minutes between my 1st course and when my 2nd came out. I had a cup of gumbo which was quite good but totally undersalted. I only got eggs and bacon. It finally came out and my eggs were barely & I mean barely warm & the biscuit looked sad & no one offered me any butter. Thankfully at least the bacon 🥓 was still hot. I had one more mimosa & then left. Will never eat here again. While the food was good, it wasn’t great & the service left a lot to be desired. I also watched people who came in after me, get their food in a timely fashion. 🤨

The food and drinks were delicious. We went during happy hour, right before dinner service. Julian was an attentive server/bartender, really made our time special.

We ordered a few salads as the rest of the menu looked too heavy for our appetites. Salads were excellent. Brown butter corn as a side was also excellent. The collard greens were too pickled for our liking so we barely touched it. They did not ask us why.
Bread pudding was a bit hard and not saucy enough for my liking. Chocolate tart was excellent.

Food was excellent. Had an early dinner reservation and the place was empty, but it was full by the time we left. Service was excellent, food portions were large. Drinks were very good, a little pricey but not outrageous. The 3 of us all shared appetizers and split a couple entrees. If you get chilly easily definitely bring a light sweater or jacket as the AC works *very well, but I liked it.

Chef Michael's dishes at Saint John are true culinary artistry; they're incredibly fresh and articulate. You don't just eat the food, you experience the level of craftsmanship and thought expressed in each dish.
In New Orleans' world-class food scene, where the culinary bar is set impossibly high, this place genuinely stands out. It's a must-try for anyone who appreciates thoughtful, high-quality dining.
Will be back soon!

I hosted an alumni event of 30 people in the bar area at Saint John. I spent several weeks trying to find the right venue. Being out of town, it was a difficult feat. However, I struck gold with Saint John. The space was wonderful. We had views to the street and the space was brightly lit and private. The staff were very welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure we had a successful event. Everyone who attended had a wonderful time. If I had it to do again, I would order less grazing boards and more hand served appetizers. The food was super delicious- very NOLA. I highly recommend this space.

Only 2 stars for food because despite a pretty good seafood gumbo , they covered my wedge salad with Bacos.

We came and waited more than an hour before being served gumbo, never mind our entrees. The waiter was effusively apologetic but the manager couldn't have been less interested in helping to address the situation. If you are going to charge $68 for a 6oz filet, the kitchen has to justify it. In our case, the ticket hadn't even been fired. There are better places on the same block. Don't waste your time or money here.
Restaurant is absolutely amazing. The food is delicious and the service is top-notch.

This was our 4th time visiting this restaurant and our first time visiting at the new location. The food at this place is always good. However the service was a little low this time. Hopefully they will be better in the future that is why I rated it as a 4. Because this is one of our go to places in New Orleans.
