Excelente! Melissa's food is way more than delicious... We had some much fun having her cooking at our place. Everybody enjoyed her dishes and her company. We are so pleased with her. She even had a birthday surprise for our friend. So sweet of her.

Having just finished a private several course dinner with Chef Melissa, it’s difficult to describe her talent for preparing incredible meals. The high quality steak with her signature chimichurri was to die for, the refined shrimp and grits with her international zest was mind blowing, and I cannot get over the tomato salad with purple basil. Everything was ON POINT. .

I want to thank Chef Melissa Araujo for the most amazing pot roast and potatoes. She is such a compassionate person. During her busy day of planning and cooking for her business she took the time to prepare AND deliver a meal over 70 miles to my family since i was unable to cook due to neck surgery. OMG the roast melted in our mouth like butter. it was so amazing with NO leftovers but full fat bellies. Again thank you so much you are GOD sent.

Melissa showed up and cooked up a storm! We partied around her in the kitchen while she impressed the hell out of us with her flair for the extraordinary. Seriously an amazing experience! Thank you so much for making my friend’s 50 birthday party an event to remember. ???

We hired Saveur for our wedding's reception and rehearsal dinner. We needed a flexible caterer who could provide gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options in addition to meat options and as close to farm to table as possible. (for 180 people and then for 60 people, respectively.) It has been our two main priorities to have clean, local food if possible, and to have food that would be accessible to everyone there. She is well versed in creating alternative foods and adapting cultural favorites to be just as much, or more flavor than the traditional dish. When we asked for a quote, she drove from New Orleans to Baton Rouge just to give an interview and quote! She interviewed us to determine the type of wedding food we would like. We were realistic with her from the beginning about our budget. We knew we could not afford to go all out here, and we tried to get that point across. We did our best to be transparent at every point and also to review every detail of her offerings to ensure we were all on the same page. A disclaimer for those with unrealistic expectations: if you ask for a major alteration from this talented chef, you may get something that deviates from what you are used to. For example, she cooked crawfish etouffee for our rehearsal dinner. It had to be gluten and dairy free. It was not a north Louisiana butterfest, so don't even think about it. It was a rich, deep-flavored dish (made with olive oil), that surely was not traditional etouffee. BUT THIS ETOUFFEE WAS BANGIN! and... EVERYONE COULD EAT IT! Melissa arrives several hours early for each meal, likely depending on the food prep needs. We chose a venue that had a large commercial kitchen, so she could be comfortable. She will provide ancillary services as well, servers, dishes (china as it is referred to), drinks, but you need to do your due diligence and ask to make sure you get what you want. The rehearsal dinner was five-course. Melissa created four, and we made homemade pumpkin spice ice cream (she served it for us :) ). We had a one-bite alligator sausage with cane syrup, a wonderful baby arugula fall salad with dates, a mushroom pho, and the etouffee (vegan dish was ratatouille on polenta yummm). Each dish was delicious. Sometimes, some aspects of the menu changed when items were not available (she is a farm to table caterer, you have to be able to accept that some things aren't available seasonally), but we were so grateful to have her, and our expectations were well-framed before the event. The rehearsal dinner was likely the greatest spread of flavorful dishes I'd never had before. We had pork tenderloin, gluten-free seafood gumbo (every single person loved it!), ratatouille, homemade mac and cheese, etc etc. There was something for everyone. While maybe Melissa could benefit from a project manager or someone to help her with the business interface to the client, she did a great job, the food was delicious and on time, and everyone enjoyed the food. All-in-all we are extremely happy with the services she provided, and we are grateful to have met her.

Saveur catering...simply amazing. Melissa was an absolute dream to work with from start to finish. She helped us curate a beautiful menu, her ideas and suggestions were delicious. All of our 80 guests were left full and happy and all asking “who is your caterer?!”. She seamlessly pulled off a 3 course dinner for us at race and religious. Had no problem making adjustments to guest count changes at the last minute, and helped me at times when I was at a loss, wedding planning is tough! But Melissa’s great attitude and sense of humor was the voice of reason I needed when stress levels were running high! Melissa and her team were amazing and the food was amazing. Look no further people! You’ve found your caterer.

Melissa is a professional caterer who cares about the food she creates. We collaborated together on a meal for twenty for four nights for my production to be reflective of a New Orleans meal in the 1800s. She dove into the project with fervor and designed six delicious and creative dishes. Her ingredients are always fresh and local due to her certified farm to table status. I enjoyed working with Melissa and recommend hiring her for your special occasion.

Melissa has catered several large scale functions for us. If you have found that the adjectives, "delicious and healthy," are not usually found in the same sentence describing New Orleans cuisine, then you should taste what Melissa can prepare. As a physician, I HEARTily recommend her.

We hired Saveur Catering to do a party. The food was awesome and display was very nice. I had friends that were at the event and have since hired Chef Melissa and Saveur catering for their own event. I highly recommend them for your catering needs.

I hired Saveur Catering to cater our rehearsal dinner a month ago, which was a cocktail taco party. After assurances and representations from its owner, Melissa Araujo, we paid almost double other estimates for her to service the party, finding solace in the notion that we would have a professional caterer and would not have to worry. We contracted for service for 80 guests; we had 65 guests attend the party. The contract called for 2 cooks, tortillas made on site, and continuous service from 6-9 pm. Melissa showed up alone with pre-made tortillas and did not make any tortillas on site. At 6:45 pm, Melissa came up to me, informed me that my guests ate too much and she ran out of food. She did not offer to do anything to remedy the situation or pose any other solutions; rather, picked up her entire set up, including table cloths, leaving only wooden tables with a bowl of salsa on top of them, for the rest of the party, which continued until 10 pm. In fact, she left before many of my guests had even arrived. So, even though we paid thousands of dollars for catering (for tacos), we sent cleanup staff that we had hired separately to go to the store to buy additional food. I was later told by guests that Melissa yelled at them as they were making plates that they were taking too much food. Some of my guests left the party briefly to go eat at Pizza Delicious (which is awesome) and then come back. It was pretty mortifying, to say the least. After the party, I reached out to Melissa to try to discuss what occurred and give her an opportunity to explain what happened. When I was finally able to speak with her after multiple attempts, she was adamant that the failure in service was my guests' fault because they ate too much and was quite rude about the entire ordeal. Although she admitted that she ran out of food and left within an hour of the three hour contracted for service, acknowledged that there were less guests than the contract called for, acknowledged that she only had one cook and not two, and acknowledged that there were no tortillas made on site (which was the main reason we contracted with her in the first place), and heard that we had to spend hundreds of dollars after she left by sending someone to the store to get additional food for our guests, she refused to refund us any of our money or do anything at all to remedy the situation. In fact, she did not even apologize. I write this review only because I relied on many other reviews in choosing a caterer for this very, very special event that we cannot re-do. I'd warn anyone who is considering hiring this catering company to not do so. There are so many other amazing caterers in this town. Please choose someone else.
