Updating feb 2024:Still beyond delicious food. Fantastic staff. The Blarney Stone Burger is everything I could ever dream of asking for on a burger that serves for any meal.Whatever genius came up with corned beef hash, egg, and tomato on a burger with all the other standard ingredients is a legend!We had an amazing waitress, who was unfortunately working on Christmas Eve, but she still had a great attitude and really made the entire experience a great one. The food was unique and very very tasty! Grew up in NOLA and this was my first ever time trying out Shimmy Shack, but I will definitely be back to try more.We had the remoulade shrimp and fried green tomato poboy and the New Orleans style bbq shrimp poboy. Both were mouthwateringly delicious!

I was working in the area for 3 months. Shimmy Shack was a great place to stop for dinner&beers after work. Great salads,soups&daily specials. The owners&staff treated me like family. Solid people,great atmosphere. Miss the Shimmy Shack.

The place was packed, I received my order . As I was trying to exit the restaurant the owner who looked like he was overworked or could have been drinking had sat at a customers table blocking an exit, so I tried to exit another area , but do to it be crowed everywhere was a tight squeeze. I tapped the owner on the shoulder and said excuse me. He then scooted his chair up but because the bar stool that’s is bolted to the floor I couldn’t move. So I tapped him on the shoulder again at this point he got up out the chair at the same time yelling” Jesus Christ”. I had a roast beef sandwich, the gravy you can tell was definitely package gravy !Not impressive. And the owner needs some customer service training!

Out of 3 restaurants we went to while in New Orleans this one was my favorite. It has a locals casual vibe and food that's very very good.
Primarily a bar, but serves large portions at reasonable prices in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Solo lunch eaten at the bar. Decided to indulge my "Reuben Snob" with fries. Was not disappointed! Had plenty of leftovers to share with my husband that evening, whom I'm sure will be wanting to visit himself in person in the near future. Quick service, drink kept full, quick check out. Check, check, chek!
