The best kept secret in New Orleans. The place where you hear music you've never heard before... Played there a few times with Billie Davies Trio (Billie Davies, Evan Oberla, Oliver Watkinson) and with Steve Masakowski, Albi Balgochian, Martin Masakowski ... a great place to relax, let some music soak in and have a great drink...
The best place to experience creative music in New Orleans!
Thank you, Sidebar Nola for hosting our stream. Keith you’re a true friend to the musicians in this city. Stay strong and safe.
Great music, great drinks and the location is perfect if you want to get away from the tourists on Bourbon St.
Simply the finest place in New Orleans for intimate music performances, whether a solo acoustic set from a singer-songwriter or a forward-thinking improvised music set from an instrumental trio. Since the Covid-19 shutdown, they’ve moved their stellar programming over to

Great music- great vibe- musicians are treated like the gods they are
Cozy jazz venue featuring local artists.
Great music! I love the energy of the place and there’s plenty of comfy seating or you can sit near the staging area to listen.

Great music in an unexpected setting. Near the Orleans Parish Prison and courts is a delightful small bar, the Sidecar. Interesting taste in music, an intimate listening experience, and a decent bar make for a good night out.
Cozy little bar with live music and a nice liquor selection. Key word is cozy! Prices are quite reasonable.
Sidebar has secretly been the best, most interesting, most artistically important New Orleans music venue for the past few years. I hesitate to even review it, because I don't want the tourists to discover and destroy it, but they need the business, so here I go. This is the utterly out of the way hole in the wall where the city's best musicians go to do their most personal and experimental work, all in a room that fits no more than 20 people, usually for a $10 suggested donation. If you're looking for something a little challenging, beyond the nostalgia offered on Frenchmen, this would be the place to find it.
Great place fantastic music.
