An absolute gem of a bar - by far my favourite spot from our visit to New Orleans. David and Vincent were both absolute gentlemen - we received one of the friendliest welcomes we've ever been lucky enough to receive and spent the evening swapping stories and writing down recommendations. If you're looking for an authentic dive bar bursting with southern hospitality and festive charm, look no further.
Went here once two years ago and I still think about what a weird wonderful spot this is. Has the curb appeal of a tool shed and feels like a photo darkroom once you’re inside. But then step out the back door and it’s this backyard oasis full of mismatch patio furniture and big beautiful plants. Next time I’m anywhere near NOLA I will absolutely be stopping by Snake & Jake’s.
Still beautifully divey as ever with some great cheap drink deals. The courtyard may feel a bit more upscale but the big oak lets you know you are still deep Riverbend. Go early if you want to avoid the college crowd or don't if you want to experience a pleasant dissonance of time and place.
