We met a couple of friends that I had not seen for years for dinner. We started at the bar for a cocktail and then seated for dinner, party of six. We were enjoying each other’s company, reminiscing about the “good old days” laughing and just having a wonderful time. Midway through dinner - woman approached our table and said we were laughing too loud and disrupting the show. I have been to MANY live performances and cannot imagine that dinner conversation containing laughter would ever be an issue, especially given the fact it is in a completely separate area. This was my first visit to NOLA and in my excitement I went to stand in the doorway of the live music not realizing it was a ticketed event. A man scowled at me for a bit and then decided he needed to rudely tell me it was a private event. No grace, just hateful people. I have never been treated so badly after spending over $400 dollars on dinner for food that was mediocre at best. I will never spend another dime in that establishment and would not recommend any one else do either.
The musical conversations that are had here are so far above Nashville and Memphis “live music” that it’s almost not worth visiting them. Snug Harbor redefined jazz for me in a fresh way when I saw John Ellis’ reimagination of the arias from the opera Carmen. I’ll be back.

Monday Charmaine Neville band performance was disappointing. Half of the band should have retired and not even with the right energy level to perform. This is definitely not the snug harbor standard or NOLA premium jazz band experience we expect.
Came here for a jazz show, performers great and nice/awesome people, servers attentive. Would recommend if you are looking for this type of event.

We've done dinner and a show before and usually the dinner is unimpressive. This was truly a great meal before the show. Seafood gumbo and white beans with fried pork chop - both were delicious. Saved it as a favorite.

Cute and intimate space with amazing music
If I could give zero stars, I would. Our group dined here, and it was the absolute worst dining experience any of us have ever had. We understand large groups can be challenging, but the staff’s complete lack of professionalism and basic courtesy was shocking.
The server forgot to punch in a main dish and, instead of apologizing, dismissed it with, “I’ll give you a drink.” Fine, we ordered espresso martinis. The first round was good, but the second round came with an argument from the bartender about how espresso martinis must have Baileys in them (spoiler: they don’t). Instead of handling it professionally, she came out yelling at our table.
To top it off, the bill arrived with no compensation for the atrocious service we endured. When we approached the manager, hoping for some understanding, she rudely told us to pay and get out.
This establishment’s staff is clearly miserable, untrained, and completely lacking in customer service skills. If you value your time, money, and basic human decency, avoid this place at all costs.

Arguably New Orleans’ premier jazz club - great musicians and respectful audiences -

This place was AWFUL! Do not go here! The wait staff was so rude they told us to “enjoy it, or don’t, I don’t care.” I’ve never had such an awful dining experience in my entire life!

Restaurantji Recommends
Can't say enough nice things about this place. Service was nice, music and vibe was great. Food was good and reasonably priced and drinks even more so and they make them strong - love that and more importantly? I love you.

We were a group of 10. The jazz venue was sold out but we had a restaurant reservation and, after a wait, were seated. Drinks first. Several had espresso martinis. They were fine. The food order was messed up a bit, but eventually everyone got served. Mediocre fare, but that was expected and is not really the subject of this review. A second round of martinis was ordered. But the bartender put Baileys in them, unlike for the first round. We complained at the bar; the bartender was displeased, threw a small tantrum but eventually a third round was served. Small problem, though; she had put Baileys in them again. We complained. The bartender came to our table and threw a fit. “Enjoy it or don’t enjoy it, I don’t care.” The manager finally agreed to remove the incorrectly prepared drinks from the bill, but told us to pay and leave. The bill had a mandatory tip included and provided for an additional optional tip! The effrontery, even though hard wired into the system, was galling.
So the food was mediocre. The service was execrable. The bartender was angry. Almost loathsome. Management apparently is unable to control staff, who were overstressed. Some of the staff apologized to us on the way out.
I cannot recommend this place.
