Wait staff very slow, food not great. Other staff other than the bar tender not helpful. Web site very misleading about the music situation. Dessert was the best part. Expensive for what we got. Generally not good
The Food is Delicious no matter what you pick; and authentic Creole. Our group had Green Fried Tomatoes, Red beans with white rice and sausage and a side Jamalya, the fish was great, red beans with white rice and fried chicken and seafood stew ALL Great!!!
Our dinner was good and the live show we attended after was even better! We would recommend.
The good: Snug accommodated our large group reservation (10 people). We had dinner there before attending the live music event (John Cleary) in the back room. The room itself provided an intimate setting and great acoustics. The music part was amazing and we enjoyed it very much! The bad: The steak and salmon were under seasoned and over cooked. The old fashioned drink was made wrong and tasted bad. The restaurant was out of 3 of the items we were hoping to order. During the music performance there was a lot of hallway noise for a good 20 minutes by the entrance to the room and it was very distracting. Conclusion: The live music is worth going to Snug Harbor but I would eat somewhere else beforehand.
Great food and service! Casual place with live jazz playing on the speakers from their stage they have on the back side (which you can pay extra to go watch the live show).

Overall dinner was good. The place is quaint and cute, just as you’d expect for New Orleans. We had a larger party so everyone tried many things. I had the ribeye and red beans and rice. It was a tad over cooked but the flavor was there. The real star of the show was the gumbo. The flavor of the roux was so good I wish I had more for breakfast this morning! Ha. We’d definitely come back.

Absolutely the worst service I've received thus far. Waited 20 minutes for my order to be taken, the place wasn't even busy. I waited another 30 minutes for my food to arrive. Do not come here for table service if you are hungry.

I loved the shrimp Po Boy! And the shrimp deviled eggs. Never had anything like that. The music was good. Staff were nice and attentive. My wife had the gumbo, fantastic.

Very disappointed in this restaurant, they took about an hour to seat us (party of 6) even though we had a reservation and then we had to be split into 2 tables
The food, when it finally arrived was cold, a couple of us had the red beans and rice, came out cold. The pasta alfredo bland and almost mushy and barely warm, no seasoning and the “garlic bread” was cold.
The hostess was not friendly, if anything was pretty aloof or seemed annoyed while fidgeting on her phone.
Overall a bad experience for our last dinner in new orleans, I would not go back or recommend.

Best venue for intimate jazz performances. Dr Michael White and his jazz quartet were excellent and amazing! We were especially pleased to see Mark Braud performing with him. We followed Mark at Palm Court regularly before they closed. All four musicians were absolutely top shelf. Thank you!
Great jazz club. Come here every time I visit 😎

The advertisement of the restaurant being a "jazz" type experience is a bit misleading because yes they do have a concert venue, yes there was a great musician there BUT NO there isn't much at all to do with the dining experience. We were greeted by the staff of the concert venue without much regard as paying customers of the restaurant- We didn't have tickets to the concert venue which is in another totally different area and in a room by itself. We could NOT hear nor enjoy much of the jazz/ music venue at all in the dining area of the facility. The overall condition of this place would be described as "Run Down" even by NOLA standards. The chairs and tables in the dining area were old, rickety and did not add to the experience at all. The wait staff was nice, punctual, fast and efficient The food and drinks were decent but over-priced as you'd expect as a tourist place advertising "live jazz" as part of the experience. Overall 3 out of 5. Good food, great drinks, friendly staff. Run Down, Not at all a Musical experience, Other locations are closer to the main area of the quarter and have better furnishings/
Apps came out cold. But the server was on it. Nice guy and good server. étouffée. was not good. But the fried green tomato's with shrimp was amazing.
Well let's get started, 2015 the month of April I lived next door to Snug Harbor. Above the Tattoo shop next door I was staying with a Electrician I was working for, when the owner reads this review he's going to know who this is, he's not going to like the review but I don't care. If you are a good looking straight male please don't ever visit this place for your own safety. Now while living next door above the shop they had a cool balcony right above Frenchmen, awesome place to be apart of the party. BUT! when I wanted to be alone and write poetry sitting outside away from everyone I had to go out back and sit on the fire escape which was the entrance to where I was staying anyway. In the month of April 2015 I had to call the Police many times on Snug Harbor, the police never showed up. The reason I had to call the police on Snug Harbor so many times is because of me being sexually assaulted behind their club, inside the gates mind you not in that tiny ally. The owner of Snug Harbor never knew why I didn't like him didn't talk to him or how many times I called the police on him, he didn't know because they never showed up. One time I went out back called the police put it on speaker phone even asked the dispatch if they could hear it they said yes, of a man begging them to stop what they were doing. THIS PLACE IS PURE EVIL! I know the owner because he used to hang out at the next place I'm reviewing, stay woke everyone these people need to pay for what there doing.
